In Paint.NET? If so, just change the settings, you can turn that function off.

Where it says "Quality:" next to a combo box, change the combo box item from "Smooth" to "Pixellated"

@Blue
I think you should try not to discourage people so much, in my absolute honest opinion this tutorial teaches people nothing. Maybe you could make a topic about actual photoshop skills instead of colouring and drop shadows. Its funny how you called yourself Mr. Sexy in the photoshop but no one noticed.

@People who want to use Paint.net
Go ahead its great and user friendly not to mention getting almost as much traffic as photoshop, not to mention its free and community orientated. I made this in 5mins using Paint.net I rushed once again because I have lots of work to do but you get the point. I ended up using less sprites and just enlarging them, also it takes time to get used to the placement and lastly I made this with no experience in Paint.net.

Edit:
Try to make sense of that after reading it back it sounds horrid.

Sure, you know a lot about making great stuff, since you're critically acclaimed and all. It's not so much a tutorial, but an answer to all of the people asking how I made my stuff. I've shown them and guess what? I can't instruct creativity. That's what it takes. If you want to learn how to use Photoshop, go look up You Suck at Photoshop.

Ok, after watching this, I've come up with a new verdict.

Paint.net could never hope to match Photoshop, regardless of how many plugins you make.

You should have a new step explaining how to use brushes after downloading them.

You have to be an idiot not to figure that out.
