Look! I attempted to sprite a character! (Better start with someone familiar)


Uh, it's my first character sprite draft so judge tenderly of me. It's a bit big for a normal sprite but I'm seriously not used to cramming details into a tiny picture.

It's really nice and detailed for the size!

The only thing I could really spot was that there were some anatomical issues, in particular the sword arm not connecting to the body, and the back leg being placed a bit awkwardly. Other than that this looks super good, I'd love to see a coloured version. a couple of lines could be a bit smoother as well, but considering that this is a draft you probably planned on cleaning them up already anyway.

And don't worry about your sprite being 'too big'. There isn't really a defined size for sprites/pixel art so you can just go with what feels comfortable to you.

Ok thanks, I did them fixes you mentioned and finished colouring it in. I think I used to many colours xD



Left arm/hand is a bit small, might fix later.

This is really good. Your art skills transfer nicely to pixel art!

Yea, it turned out nicer than I thought and I have to thank my sufficient drawing skills for that~! I guess pixel art/spriting is like a super condensed version of drawing.

I can't tell where his shield arm is. When I mentally draw the arm using the proportions from his sword arm, I get the feeling that it should peek out from the shield somewhere.
Maybe consider moving the shield and/or making it bigger so we can see where his arm's at.

Damn, that Zero sprite is godlike. Like, dev quality.
