"effectively"

Fooling around is not effective. It wastes time and overlooks many practical shortcuts.

Not effective? Screwing around was one of my steps. That's part of the damn process.

DV, they ARE right.
I and everyone I know learns their own techniques for making stuff work well in Photoshop by just messing around until cool stuff happens.

Tried making a sig with Blue's method.
I like how it came out, and it feels good to be using a sig made by myself.

See? Even Tid, who has never made a good banner, was able to produce a decent one.

Thanks. I really liked the concept of having those Chozo like symbols behind Samus with the thick outlines, but no matter what I did, Samus just didn't stand out enough.

I may add a couple of tips and tricks that I use. There are some things that I go out of my way to do.

Wow, thats it?

I always felt there was something else on those sigs.

But well, I suppose people kept asking.

I recommend people not to follow this strictly step by step, but to experiment while doing each step. Otherwise, its pretty much useless for you.
