You're using Paint.NET, right? You might want to hunt down a plugin or two to help with those selection/fill/magic wand/whatever tool you used edges.

Tracing a screenshot is easy. Try actually making a custom drawing. There's no point in calling it your own unless you add a spin, like adding a new expression. Also;

I doubt he traced that image... he most likely used a reference image and drew what he saw. if he actually traced it, then the line art would've been more crisp and less sloppy.

The Charizard one has a huge head, and Mario has strange hair on the other one. The Villager looks.. strange. I think you should try using this when coloring on paint.net;
1. Make a new layer
2. Zoom
3. Color with the brush tool

Haha, seems like you're having a lot of fun making these! Really great to see you improving along the way, keep it up! My favourite piece so far is probabaly your take on Villager.

Have long have you been drawing? It seems like you've got quite some expierence! I would suggest investing more time in smoother lineart, do you sketch before you colour?
