1. I really like the way you did the hair, great job.
2. The arm (if its an arm) is really messed up, are the lines suppose to be arm hair? Why is the arms so crooked?
3. He looks like Jay Leno =p
4. Did you try and add teeth? Without them the portrait is lacking.
5. Is he wearing a shirt under his dress shirt? If so why isn't it drawn in? Or is the collar just up to high?
6. I understand that this was just a random drawing but why is there no backround? In almost every picture the backround is VERY important, everything must flow hrew to the vocal point which is clearly not happening here.

1. Thank you very much.
2. Oh, that isn't an arm, haha. It's going to be a silky black jacket. No, those lines are the collar of the jacket, lol.
3. Lol
4. I tried, but they look crappy in sketch. I was going to wait until I color to add them in.
5. He isn't wearing an under shirt, no.
6. I don't have any plans to make a background. Hm, maybe I will.

I like the way you 'layered' the hair. I was wondering if you simply made random strokes, or used the red (or blue) strokes and made a copy in order to create the blue (or red) strokes.

I can also notice your style here, in a very small extent. In other words, the 'standard' art you draw is almost non-existent, but your style is clearly there.

Overall, I like it. The layering and contrast (red arms with the blue face, for example) is actually pretty nice.

Thank you very much! No, they aren't just random strokes at all, haha. His hair is always sort of messy, but it has flow and direction, so I tried to capture that by having some sections going in certain directions.

I'm glad my style still shows through different art types.

Thank you very much.

I'm sort of afraid to post this because of the criticism I won't get, but here we go.

I started to color it. This is the first time I'm trying realistic shading in photoshop, so it's sort of intimidating.

I just started the hair, so I'm expecting comments about that. Just know that it's far from done. I'm just trying to establish a valued base, so I can go in and detail the hair strands. Think of it as a blueprint, I guess.

The hair at the top looks more bold that the hair on the sides.
The chin hair looks more purple than brown.
The brown on his face looks faded.
Also, will his face be all brown?

I've already said that the hair is far from done, but alright.
It isn't chin hair. You'll see on this update.

That's good. If THAT'S over-complimenting, I'm never looking at this topic again.

Holy f***. Do you know how much of a fan of super-stylized characters I am?

This and this. Draw more. I'd like to see better image quality, a couple of new ones, and perhaps a full body shot. Keep the sketchy filling and simplistic nature, but add some poses that match their outward personalities, such as the short-haired one crossing her arms and leaning more on one leg. You know, I don't have to lead you around.

And this. I'm loving the proportions. Also, I think I've figured out why the faces just don't look right. They're all generally the same shape. Women tend to have thinner heads and more pointed jaws while men have much larger cheekbones. And the eyes could use some variation, as well. And hell, if you want a great example of diverse characters, just take a look at the Professor Layton series. Every single one has his own unique look while sticking to the same style.

Now, I'm not telling you to start copying Professor Layton and go hog wild with the people, just try a bit of experimentation. Your foray into the world of black, dotted eyed characters is just the thing I'm lookin' for, so keep it up.

If you're talking about the Layton characters, you may want to look up that word. If you're talking about Geno's cool character drawings, then yes I suppose they're technically caricatures.

You like them? Huh, alright. Thanks! I'll make sure to play around with them a bit more. I didn't know you'd be such a fan. Although it is frustrating that the drawings that I spent the least time on are liked the most, haha.

Oh, great. I've been trying to nail proportions for a while now. Not quite there yet, but I'm inching along.

Hmm... alright. I'm play around with variation and see what I get. Thanks a lot Blue.
