Commission Info: http://reiforce.deviantart.com/journal/A personal series based around humans with varying powers in a medieval setting. It's more story based, with heavy focus on character development. The main character, Cole. Has ice powers. Cheerful, but serious when the situation demands it. Glad to be the leader of the group, and is easy to get along with. Punch, punch sweep combo with ice. Analogous to a SSB entrance. Cole slides in and turns around, ready to go. 'Aeo' Avery, a cool headed breakdancer. Able to rotate any of his joints at reasonable speeds, making breakdancing easier (As well as more interesting.) and for adding spin to attacks. FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHY. Aeo taking advantage of both his abilities and hammerstones to deliver a combo in style. An Idle pose. A personal series based around angels, demons and everything that belongs in the heavens and hells. Based around fantastical fights and heaps of symbolism. The Heroes: Reiciel, the MC. A Dominion who is tasked with defeating those who have 'fallen' or turned evil, along with keeping the peace. His Resonance (Powers/abilities) is a rapier that can fire blasts of light. Joel is a Malachim, as is the lighthearted sidekick who is intended to deliver messages to the humans. His Resonance are a set of pistols that fire light. Jaciel the Principality prefers to fight rather than speak. His Resonance are a light infused mace and binding chains, although he has a habit of punching people after receiving the abilities of Moloch. Combo Attack. Slash, Throne, Light Explosion. Joel's main attack. Jaciel's ultimate attack. Jaciel throwing a Throne. He hurls a giant wheel forward. The Villains: Not a prince, but the Demon counterpart to Jaciel. Terran is a Sovereign that fights with brute strength, a giant sword, and shadow tentacles. Known for being calm and collected, but still a brutal fighter. Baphomet. A borrowed demon with the words solve and coagula, Latin for 'separate' and 'join together.' Appearance and pose is based on http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... phomet.png, albeit without breasts for pretty clear reasons. Rosier. Formerly one of the highest ranking Dominions and Reiciel's main teacher and was even the one to welcome him into the clouds. He Falls willingly in order to gain more power. The black brambles grew due to this, and the roses growing from them are a sign of both his vanity, as well as being his namesake. Also, Rose Colored Glasses. Nisroch. According to some, he's a demon that acts as the Chief of Cuisine in Hell. Thus starts my attempt to make demons look like demons, and I feel I came out strong. Azazel. One of the original Fallen Angels, referred to as the Scapegoat. Bound hands and feet and cast into the shadows, he's now returned thanks to the effects of the Fall. Moloch, a false god that brought the sacrifice of children. The main impetus is a Brazen Bull, a torture/sacrifice device where people are placed in one of seven furnaces and burned alive. Naturally, I made a bronze minotaur with a bunch of furnaces open on it. This has a pretty long and interesting process on how we got to this point, enough to turn the page detailing it into a lesson header over on Pixelation. If you're interested in metal shading for pixel art, here's a great link to some examples: http://pixelation.org/index.php?topic=18793.0Nisroch, a demon placed as the main chief of cuisine of Hell, and in some circles a deity represented by birds. Running with that, it's a demon of Gluttony, textured to look like raw chicken. It wears skins of demons and humans it has used to cook, explaining the face on it's belt, and has a number of bones (including a bird skull around the neck) decorating it. The main hands are used to carve up meat and other food, while the smaller ones are flexile and precise to properly cut things. The mouth, and second mouth on the stomach, are both stitched up to prevent it from eating to much and releasing a black beast within. The Golden Calf, a lasting symbol of the worship of Greed. Like Moloch, it has lost a significant portion of its power due to being forgotten by the masses. A play around with more demonic influenced character design, taking influence from images and figures made of the Golden Calf, along with the associations I've put with Greed, in this case eyes. Like with Moloch, it was a heck of a lot of play texturing gold/metallic substances. Angel/Demon Hierarchies, basically Celestial Rankings. Rankings are split into two systems: Class and Sphere. In terms of Class, Seraphim are typically viewed as being stronger, but a 1st Sphere Malachim is more powerful than a 3rd Sphere Seraph. 1st Sphere Seraph - Ifrit Cherub - Chimera Throne - Chariot 2nd Sphere Dominion - Bel Virtue - Vice Power - Partisan 3rd Sphere Principalities - Sovereign Malachim - Lilim Archangel - Archdemon A personal series based around the far future, where technology has advanced to the point where anything is possible, and sports are now played by machine enhanced supersoldiers. Imagine gametypes like Capture the Flag and Destroy the Monument except IRL rather than characters. Also would make a great Minecraft/TF2 hybrid game. The MC, Elizabeth Makina, or 'Lady_Maki.' A sports celeb with an impressive online presence. Wields a W.A.R. Sword that turns into a pistol. Samus and Maki. Giving Maki a bit of a quirk. She regularly does this kind of thing to think/reach low objects. Edward Black, aka 'Riggs.' A soft spoken opponent more focused on efficiency than style. Incredibly large, even considering the setting. Riggs showcasing the basic example of the weapondry. W.A.R. Cubes, as they are called, act like programmable pixels that form weapons, ranging from everything imaginable, but regulated to create balance. Sorta where the idea started, but quickly evolved past. An Automaton, designed to be a teammate/friend paired with each fighter, being either a dulled or exaggerated version of their human. She's been pretty much removed. A personal series based around the concepts of Magic VS. Science taken to the logical conclusion. The intention is it is a Fire Emblem style game, where you recruit friends from each side as the leader, the bridge between them, and develop your character based on which side you want to win. The main character, Clarke. Is the best example of magic and technology coexisting, with one false arm made with either practice, along with a synthetic heart. Head and gender are intended to be customizable. Mages: Healer Class: Priestess. A mage highly adept at healing. Really low damage, slow, healing capability. Close Combat Class: War Mage. A mage capable of using magic to increase physical capabilities and wield enchanted weapons. Close Range, medium damage, fast. Berserker Class: Sentinel. Avid abusers of various strength and stamina potions, contained in their jugs, allowing them to use heavily enchanted weapons. Close range, high damage, defense. Corrupt Class: Abomination. Former practitioners of dark magic that corrupted them into mindless beasts overflowing with magic. Close Range, low damage, fast. Basic enemy concepts in order of power. Standard, Advanced, and Elite equipped with the basic armaments, in this case Unchanneled Magic, Staff and Tome, which differ on range, use and power. Mechanics:Healer Class: Field Medic. A specially trained nurse wielding a med pack full of repairing nanomachines and stim packs. Really low damage, slow, healing capability. Close Combat Class: Beam Sword Unit. A machine enhanced soldier further enhanced through nanomachines, increasing durability and functions. Close Range, medium damage, fast. Berserker Class: Stimulant Soldier. Wears a body enhancing nanosuit, in addition to be pumped with combat stims by the drone and pumps. Close range, high damage, defense. Range Class: Sniper. Generic, Recruit, Enemy variations. A machinist equipped with a long range weapon. Long range only, high damage, slow. Corrupt Class: Cybernetic. More machine than human, members of this class have no free will. Close Range, low damage, fast. Basic enemy concepts in order of power. Standard, Advanced, and Elite equipped with the basic armaments, in this case Pistol/Knife, Rifle and Cannon, which differ on range, use and power. In addition, each side has a wide variety of classes that thematically match, coincide and conflict with each other: Standard, Advanced, Elite.Healer.Buffer. Range.Close Combat.Mounted. Heavy. Speed. Stealth. Berserker.Tank. War Healer. Self Harm. Corrupt.Dark. Calachos - Mount of Kings: show A personal series about a physical god who lives at the top of a mountain. After creating humanity, xe set a challenge to reach him and earn a wish. Xe also created magical crystals that are turned into tattoos to give people access to powers. Heavily based on all forms of magic, wizards and the like, as well as old school RPGs. The main character, Jaunt Miller, mostly known as Miller or the Wanderer. A farm boy who wants to save his village from something. (Bandits, monsters, bandit monsters, etc.) Tattoos are very simplistic and are composed of symbols like a moon. Hobbies include stargazing, reading, drawing, exploring, learning to read. The Hero. Class Changes: Villager, Standard, Mage, Warrior, Rogue, Ranger, Bard, Demon. Master Class: Wanderer. Marion Bradbury. A merchant Jaunt helps out. She rewards him with his first Tattoo, and teaches him about how to use magic. Eventually becomes his first partner. Fights primarily with a short sword, invoking a wand. Tattoos are very elegant patterns with a flower motif. Hobbies include wood carving, calligraphy, botany, studying. The Mage/White Mage. Class Changes: White Mage, Paladin, Invoker, Tomes, Barrier Mage. Master Class: Priestess. Marshall Williams. A freelancer with a penchant for brawling. Teaches enchantments. Fights primarily with an enchanted sword. Tattoos are runic and old style, with alchemic overtones. Hobbies include architecture, archeology, building, fencing, brawling, drinking. The Warrior/Red Mage. Class Changes: Red Mage,Knight, Samurai, Berserker, Cavalier. Master Class: Weaponlord Parker Burrows. A mob boss who's become bored with mayhem. Kicks Jaunt's sorry butt the first time they meet, then joins him when they become equals. Fights with a Monk's staff. Tattoos are wavy lines. Hobbies include napping, gambling, cards, thievery, hunting. The Rogue/Black Mage. Class Changes: Black Mage, Assassin, Gambler, Scout, Shadow. Master Class: Phantom. Eliza Lowell and her Golem Emett. Skilled at animating nonliving clay. Also has a major interest in machines, shown in her animated clockwork spider Charlie. Fights mainly using Emett as a Hulk or with Elemental Magic. Tattoos are 'Biomechanical,' with gears and mechanisms galore. Hobbies include tinkering, figure making, metallurgy, archery, hunting, cooking. The Ranger/Elemental Mage. Class Changes: Elemental, Golemancer, Alchemist, Beastmaster, Hunter. Master Class: Artificer.Avon Stratford. A mysterious troubadour that roams the world, making music of whatever he sees. Has Synesthesia, so he can see colors. Fights using music and instruments, along with dance fighting. Tattoos are musical notes, and on his chest is an unfinished orchestra. Hobbies include singing, dancing, instrumentals, writing lyrics, parties, public displays, drinking. The Bard/Support Mage. Class Changes: Support Mage, Dancer, Instrumentalist, Enchanter, Heavy Metallurgist. Master Class: Minstrel.Arin Isaac. A pleasurable outcast that communes with demons and spirits. Fights using said demons and spirits, as well as her native abilities. Tattoos are reminiscent of demonic sigils and wouldn't look out of place in the Ars Goetia. The Demon/Arcane Mage. Hobbies include playing with spirits, toying with demons, nature, walks, drawing. Class Changes: Arcane Mage, Master, Demon, Spirit, Circle Mage. Master Class: Interloper.viewtopic.php?p=1410642#p1410642My thought processes for all these designs sans a few. Jaunt summoning a Thoughtform, a super powerful manifestation of his magical tattoos that he uses simply to do a pose. A Wax Golem. Used as background elements and, after being taught by Eliza on how to make them, Arin's Circle Magic. Mouris, Cantor of the Dead. Analogous to Jesus' disciples, representing death. Tattoos are Negative Space, crafted in the image of a skeleton. Vitalecer, Cantor of the Living. Reverse of above. Tattoos are based on Yantra Tattooing, which are said to bestow protection and well being, with the exception of his heart tattoo. Fray. A mysterious woman of questionable existence. At one point acts as a guide for Jaunt to lead him to something deep inside a forest. Marion changing into her, as I've been calling it, "Nadeshiko," Class. Rather than sit back and heal, she uses her mastery as a White Mage archetype to continuously heal herself, allowing her to get a bit more physical. She does this by throwing off her coat, changing her pants to shorts, and attacking. She rushes forward, attaches a binding tether, draws back, and punches. Her leg remains black because she always wears a single stocking for a specified by unknown reason. Yang Xiao Long wearing an outfit I designed Avon sprinting forward. I plan on adding on to this at some point to turn it into an attack, but for now it was just practice. Took a number of drafts, mostly fixing the legs and perfecting the hair wave. A personal series based around select people being chosen to become "Manowars," extremely powerful embodiments of concepts and countries that are designed to end large scale war. Notable is that all Manowars are mute, due to a side effect of the process. Shaw, later known as The Second World, Embodiment of Word and Faith. The story starts out by showing what she becomes and then how she got on that path, and then eventually rising to face a threat. As Shaw, extremely determined and respectful, but becomes incredibly lazy and full of herself after becoming Il. A personal series based around a world where the sun no longer shines. Clouds surround the earth, and the population has been on a rapid decline for forty or so years. Heavily influenced by works like Cowboy Bebop and The Last of Us in setting, world and characters. Roman. A self destructive cyborg former soldier. Now a remnant Mnemonic Soldier, capable of selectively remembering anything of possible importance, be it conversations, complex codes and most notably fighting styles. In his hands are a cigarette and his weapon of choice: a specially crafted Mnemonic Weapon that is connected to his mind, making it almost like another limb composed of free floating pieces. A representation of how his Mnemonic fighting abilities function. His left eye has seven pupils, each representing a fighting style used for different purposes. The eye revolves based on which he wants loaded. A Light, Medium and Heavy Attack. All are obviously derived from the Heavy, but I changed some minor things like leg placement and the Light being an electric palm strike. Marco. Part of the same team that Roman was one in the past. Light hearted and surprisingly religious, given the setting. Customs/edits based around various games and ideas I have. The Gas Reaper. I just wanted to make a gas mask. Some random guy I designed while messing around with posing. AU where Zelda is the hero. Look up Clockwork Empire. Mondo Zappa from Suda51's Killer is Dead. The Ancient Robots from Skyward Sword. Asura from Asura's Wrath. A bunch of characters from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Mentioned above, Clockwork Empire Zelda doing a spin attack. Based on a gif floating around. Skyward Sword Beta Zeldas. Samus and Maki. Miriam from Bloodstained. Shirtless Ike request. Weird alien thing request. Older Ness request. A cheeky Palutena that was requested. Kazuya Minegishi from Devil Survivor. Alternate outfits I designed for RWBY Volume 4 before they came out. Save Yang, the poses are all based on concept art, but the designs were mine. Ruby and Weiss actually ended up pretty close, considering. Yang Xiao Long from RWBY in her Volume 4 outfit, plus some extra arm designs based on things I've seen theorized. Mostly just for an excuse to make her an Asura rip off with three arms on one side. Jaune Arc wearing a, "Volume 4," outfit I designed for fun. The first is just a minor change to his outfit and then a trench coat and gauntlet, but the other has a bit more though into it that's obvious if you watch the series. Dont, from Thrilling Intent! A pigbat that can change into a more humanoid form. I was playing around with shading and animal art, and decided that I might as well make a pig with a transformation. Silent Hill - A New Age: show Insomnia leads to a lot of weird things... You play as a German scientist who has to face his and his family's sins. Products. A. Evolution, which is why they get progressively more machinated as time goes on. B. Prosthetic limbs, the main character served in the military as a field medic, and worked with amputees, which stuck with him. The type varies from legs to arms to a recent discovery of tentacles being viable alternatives. C. The concepts of 'Cybernetics eat your soul,' and the thoughts that one day, nobody will be able to tell the difference between man and machine, which is why the 'prosthetics' are so large. D. Advancement of technology and human integration. The entire body is supposed to be machines covered in human skin, stretched over to mask the metal. The face is a synthetic gas mask, and the pipes behind the head are supposed to resemble human intestines. A boss/miniboss variant, known as a Culmination. All of the above taken to the extreme. A Cluster. A. Evolution. The other forms appear after seeing the one above. They include one with the individual balls becoming smaller, and growing what resemble limbs, one where the balls become smaller and start to take on a vaguely humanoid shape, and the final where the balls fuse into a single entity, with developed limbs that ooze slime. B. Fetus. While it starts out as a bunch of balls/eyes clustered together, it's other forms stem from the developments of a fetus and how different people view the stages. It starts out as a shapeless cluster, then gradually develops into a 'human.' C. Abortion and Stem Cell Research. The main character is a controversial scientist experimenting with stem cells and fetuses. He feels conflicted on the pursuit of science versus morality and the possibility of life. The Cluster is treated as a fetus trying to take revenge, and the eyes that make it up look at him, judge him, and punish him. Mirror Beast. A. Proliferation of Technology. Humans have recently become more and more dependent on machines to make their lives easier. They resemble incredibly obese, drooling humans with no real limbs. B. Reflections of the future. In the future, this probably isn't far off from the humans of the new age. We will be fat, we will be mindless, and we will be consume by machines. Hence, the mirror to show that they will be us. C. Technology and human integration. Again, these incorporate prosthetic limbs, this time being tamer versions of artificial legs. The skin is also gray, intended to be human skin made of metal, rather then metal covered by skin, as the Products do. A Roach. A. Genocide Victims. Small, weak, and worthless, the Roaches are the chained victims that were treated as lesser beings. While the are in general genocide victims, the Roaches are specifically Holocaust deaths brought back to life. Name stems from the genociders referring to the 'lesser' beings as c***; insects that need to be squashed. B. Fear of insects. Who wouldn't freak out if they saw a bunch of roaches in real life? C. Weakness and subjugation. They are small and weak, as opposed to the Apex. They remain chained, and their arms and legs are as scrawny as possible. D. Fire. They are the ones burned alive. Their skin is still charred. An Apex. A. Genocide Leaders. Specifically the Nazis. Note the pale skin, blonde hair, and muscled body. They are the Master Race, warped into monsters for their sins. B. Fear of Guns. The arm that isn't a giant club is intended to be a gun integrated into the arm. The Main Character is supposed to be a pacifist, and the necessity to use weapons to survive don't resonate with him well. As well as him, it's reminiscent of firing squads that once executed the lesser. C. Strength and Domination. They are the ones that originally imprisoned the Roaches, and that carries on. They have large, toned, and destructive bodies that are not easy to damage. D. Evil as a whole. That circle in their chest? They're literally heartless. Hyper Light Drifter A Hyper Light Drifter design kinda thing. Takamaru Pit Palutena Meta Knight Dedede Link's Sword Beam from Zelda II Links Hyrule Warriors Combo Hyrule Warriors Zelda Alucard Grant Sypha Trevor Samus Zero Suit Marth Roy Hector Eliwood Robin Shovel Knight Pac Man Bomberman Sora Isaac The heroes from Thrilling Intent on Youtube. Watch it. It's amazing. Cole Combo A scene from Maki's verse Clarke Attack Jaunt Attack Shaw Attack Roman's finisher The various forms and dress of the main characters. FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHY. Aeo taking advantage of both his abilities and hammerstones to deliver a combo in style. A concept more than anything. Super Time Force The Super Best Friends. Watch the Sw1tcher, all of you. The main seven protagonists of my various series. Third Law Enemies. Marco. Fray. The Baz and Rage from Super Best Friends Play. Just game design ideas and junk. No real direction or anything, just random ideas I feel can translate into mechanics. Mnemonic Slots - Probably used for Rome, and the basic gimmick is you getting to make your own moveset using 6 slots of attacks that have different properties. For example, you have a standard combo consisting of 4 attacks. You can select a Jab from Slot 1, a sword attack from Slot 6, a sweep from Slot 4 and a finisher from Slot 1 again. I think this might be similar to God Hand? Harmony Runner - Based on this, where you run through pure black and white backgrounds and try to defeat enemies in tune with music. Art Asset Mix - A justification attempt to make it so that I can have a giant boss with a pixelated arm, high res head, low poly leg and hand drawn body, or at least that same idea. Input System - Playing around with Magic/Mana/Energy/Etc. points. Say you have 20 Mana, and you want to use a basic magic attack. You can put anywhere from 1-20 points into it to decide the potency, accuracy and power. Between 1-7 you're likely to miss and if it hits it will likely be weak. 8-15 and it's a medium damage with decent accuracy. 16-20 and it's almost a guaranteed power hit. As the character using the attack gets stronger, less mana would need to be put into the lower tier abilities to be effective. There would need to be a fine balance reason so that you can't just only use guaranteed power hits, though. Samurai of the Swamp - A joke I have with my friend that's a Beat Em Up where a guy runs through a swamp katana'ing alligators. Modern RPG where you can enchant modern day clothes and accessories. I'm imagining starting a game with a girl in pajama pants and an oversized t shirt and eventually going into super complex cosplay gear. Names I want to somehow use in some manner without it being stupid - Sweet Freedom, Whiskey Dingo, Just Crimson, Soul Pierce Just characters I designed for no particular purpose. Mostly based on concepts or pictures I've collected. I think she was named Chloe just as a 'dev name' I guess. Based on Axent Headphones (Headphone speakers with cat ears). Punky and weird, more than likely influenced by Life Is Strange (Chloe...). Nicknamed Coco, she's a coffee obsessed pleasantry. Personality is based off of Mica Burton. Probably just a berserker design for Third Law. Based on a photo that basically had the shoulder things. Scarlet, and super spy lady or something with magic tattoos. This started out as "Make character with Dio Pants" and evolved into this. Rekka, probably a design for WAR Queen. Based on Tron lines on clothes. A prince looking guy. Might use him for a character I have in mind. I really like this design. Based on a photo with similar clothes. She's probably going into evolve into Maki's #2. An enemy called... a Wallflower. I had the idea of a background element that turns into an enemy like this. A rework of an older sprite/idea that's variant of Third Law. Instead of massive magic vs. machine warfare, it's a disgruntled teenager that develops magic and his spellbook is an iPad. Pat from Super Best Friends Play mentioned how hot trucker girls with puppies are. So I made Terry Bogard with a pug. I liked the trifusion design of Chrom, Levi and Skelter Helter, so I repurposed it into this. This is based on a drawing of Hannah from the Yogscast's The Forest playthrough, which was basically blonde girl in blue shirt with an ax, along with a girl with tattooed arms. I liked both, so I just mixed them. On her head is probably a random mouse thing for a game. A Diamondback. A totally not Bloodborne inspired monster that's a man with snakes coming out of his back. Based on a drawing of Rythian from the Yogscast's character, who's a sorcerer that's associated with purple energy. This is a pretty stolen design, but I made it anyway as practice. A character inspired by a reinterpretation of Ganondorf, which had a similar pattern on his shirt, along with the darkness arm and gauntlet. I also added a bit of Woolie from SBFP.

Too much bright shading on some-most of the sprites. If you're going for JUS, outlines should be black or the darkest color of the darkest set
Second, other than Asura, Gamzee, Dave, and a few others: You need to work more on the faces. I could barely spot yasha's nose at all.
Btw, nice Asura and Black Mage. Also, i never knew you were a Homestuck fan ._.

The customs are a non JUS style, but I do need to use darker shades. I can never seem to get them right. Faces are not my strong point in the slightest. : D. Started last summer.

Its good but i don't see the arms and muscles move smoothly. Make them move a little bit more. Also, i realized that the muscle detail on his arms is a bit too weak so try to fix that if possible (or not. Its optional)

You should start with something a little easier xD it looks "alright" though. Not worth picking it apart piece by piece, it just needs work.

His muscles don't really show up due to being coated in metal, but I'll try and up the movement.

Too edited for my taste, I must say. Piccolo and all.
You can also look at the Asura's Wrath: Lost Chapters for additional 2.5D reference for Asura (the street fighting parts), make it resemble that if you can.

I couldn't find a reference pic with the details that clear. With that I could probably make something better. I'll try to make one for it, but something makes me doubt I'll be able to get it right.
