Does anyone know where the replay videos from Brawl go to when they're saved to an SD card? And sorry about double posting. I just couldn't wait any longer.

They are on the SD somewhere, but yeah you cant play them anywhere but in Brawl. If you wanted to make a real video out of them, use a capture device to record the playback of your replay.

Are you being sarcastic this time, or are you serious?

Anybody ever think about why Brawl cut MewTwo from the roster?

Lucario was technically his spiritual successor, even though their fighting styles are different. Also, Sakurai probably didnt want to oversaturate the game with Pokemon, since it now has the most reps (6) if you count all 3 pokemon from the Trainer.

It was probably late in development too, since his data was in the game's files and all.

That could be trophy data.

Preeety hard to mix up movelist data with trophy data, last I checked.

But not being a programmer what do I know, right...?

Oh, I didn't know it was that. Before today, I didn't know about those hidden files. Well then, he is a scrapped character. Is it possible to make that leftover data work though? It would be fun to see those moves in action.

My theory is that they were blanks for optional DLC in the future, but were scrapped. In most modern fighting games, when DLC is planned they leave character placeholders in the fighter file.

Here's hoping that DLC doesnt get scrapped next time, that would be soo awesome, though i'd imagine it would cause problems with the online play, maybe...

Here's a theory, they used some of the melee character's files for animations and such, its possible Mewtwo's was used for the Shadow Ball/Aura Sphere animation, since they're practically identical.

I dunno, Nintendo wasn't hot on DLC back in those days, let alone that the game could handle much more data (because of it's size)

I heard some people say that it had to do with file transfers from Melee, like Thundaga said.

On the news thing on Smashwiki, it says something about how Nintendo is looking back on previous Smash Bros. games while they're developing the new one, so it's possible some characters could return. Hopefully this means that Mewtwo will return. Hopefully Lucario will return, too.
