Okay, here's a thing.

The shield looks a bit peculiar. Don't get me wrong, I'm no shield expert. But could a tiny shield like that really block anything? Warriors from the feudal ages had bigger shields (pretty sure of this :p). On another note, the hands look off. The left hand (clutching the sword) appears to be bigger than the shield hand (right hand). The sword itself looks rather large, as if one hand might not be enough to properly clutch it. I'm guessing that through constant holding of the sword in the left hand has built this guy's forearm muscle quite well. Impressive results!

Where you're wrong:
The shield. It is actually a targe shield. I'm not sure on the details, but I know it was used by infantry troops during the Wars for Scottish Independence.

The hands... I honestly just don't see it. They look fine to me. Maybe it's just because the right hand's at a different angle?

Where you're right:
The sword is a claymore, which is strictly speaking a two-handed weapon. I'll probably change it so that he's holding it with both hands. It doesn't look all that good anyway. Come to think of it, the grip's too thick and not long enough. The pommel looks like crap and the guard is too small. Don't even get me started on the blade.
