My vote is 100% serious. I actually want to lynch Terra.

How was anyone supposed to figure out that was a joke?
That part wasn't a joke. It was an effort to get people invested in the game. If I don't commit to anything, how can I expect anyone to take me seriously? I wanted to start a Terra bandwagon. That didn't pan out. Fortunately, it led to other things that gave the game the kick in the rump that it needed to start moving.

We would have found a way to get the game moving.
Nonono. You don't get to handwave me like that. I want a real answer. What were you prepared to do to get people to care?

Dephius wrote:
Someone would have slipped,
How? It's pretty hard to slip when all everyone is doing is agreeing about what character the third party role is based on.

Dephius wrote:
we would have targeted each other with questions,
What questions? What specific questions? To be honest, this sounds exactly like what we are doing now, but we didn't get here by speculating about the setup. We got here by taking action and giving people something to think about.

Dephius wrote:
and yes, that sounds slow and inadequate,
It's not slow if one doesn't take a road that leads to a dead end expecting to get somewhere.

Dephius wrote:
I think you WERE serious about lynching Terra,
I was, yes.

Dephius wrote:
and you're playing it off as "Oh hey I was parodying bad plays" so you wouldn't get put under suspicion.
Actually, I was explaining my "reasoning". My purpose there was to demonstrate that basing a case on meta is a bad idea. (And hopefully to make TOWK facepalm.) I was serious about everything else, but the fact remains that my vote is a Random Voting Stage vote that I stretched as far as I could take it.

Dephius wrote:
Why use humor in the first place? I thought the Mafia community had panned it after Shoop kept making jokes.
Shoop kept saying he was a fool in every game, which lead to unnecessary WIFOM. We didn't get tired of humour in general, we got tired of that.

-.- Sorry if we got busy personal lives. I'm just trying to keep my grades in check so that I can actually graduate and have the ability to get on here and post.

While Brik has already replied to you, Thomas, I'd like to ask you this question, if you don't mind: what applications of setup speculation do you think will apply to this game? In other words, where would setup speculation play a part in lynching mafia/finding townies/eventually winning?

This question is confusing me at the moment, but then again, I am beyond tired at this time :/

Just realized we don't have a votecount lol. Getting that fixed now, while thinking over the recent development.

Votecount 1.1
Voting Nixter-Kyuubit, Lucina(L-4)
Voting Brikanorak-Genis(L-5)
Voting Terra-Brikanorak(L-5)
Voting Genis-Terra(L-5)

Not voting: Dephius, Champetero, Geno, Nixter, King Arthur, Thomas Terminator.

With 11 alive, it takes 6 votes to lynch.
Deadline is on the 18th of January, which is ten days from now.

So basically what this votecount shows is that NO ONE IS BOTHERED WITH ACTUALLY LYNCHING. That's horrible, to be honest: while I'm definitely not in favour of lynching for the sake of it, the fact that very few people are bothered to use their vote to state their opinion strikes me as odd at best, and pure negligence on both sides at worst. Please people, VOTE AND EXPRESS YOUR OPINIONS.

And with that, I'll get back to my work/preparing my post.

that's why i decided it wouldn't work, even giving it the benefit of the doubt, letting people vote and it obviously didn't provoke anyone to join

because i was making sense of what he said and said it out loud in case no one saw it as a trap, but not stupid enough to go for it, like someone who's not sure there's a hornet nest, but not one going to test it

Sorry for not posting, I got banned and apparently it was wrong of me to assume that either the mod hosting the game or the mod playing the game would mention that.

Anyway, things to comment on:

@Brik: Don't worry, I got the joke. I'd suggest getting your points across in a different way in the future, though. Some people didn't get it.

@TT: No offence, but if your life is that busy then I'd suggest not playing silly forum games for the time being.

@Nixter: ugh everything you're saying is giving me a headache lmao. "I thought he was setting a trap so I decided to POINT IT OUT because I wanted to let people know what I thought he was doing instead of letting him explain that himself". Are you high?

My vote was made during RVS but it stands properly now.

OK, I was planning to do a really long rant but I decided that since no one will listen to me rant for three of four paragraphs I'll link you to the appropriate MSWiki page here. Please read the section titled Environment that favors scum, and please try to shift that towards the town environment. This means more activity, more coherence, and some focused wagons, thanks.

@Genis: I'm waiting on that scumread post of yours. As for now, unless you're really busy, this should be at the top of your priority list of things to do. It will decide where you are on my scum list. For now, my vote remains on you.

@Brik: Just out of curiosity, why is your vote still on me even though you think I'm not scum? I'm getting sad seeing that vote :(

While I still believe that Dephius is indeed scummy, some posts of him make me start second-guessing myself, to be honest. There's his post here that is about him refuting RQS. From what I've seen of generally more passive scum, this move struck me as a bit odd, as although it's passive and doesn't contribute much, imo Dephius would go along with it, in an attempt to appear town by answering the questions, as he did so in Turnabout Mafia as scum.

There are also quite a lot of posts just purely attacking Brik with questioning: while yes, tunneling is absolutely horrible, some of it I definitely disagree with(if you need me to be more detailed, I can say exactly what) and Deph needs reads right now, I've also noticed that there's a link between the amount of tunneling someone does and how they're town. For example, as town in 14 I tunneled so much on Ramsey that in hindsight I should've focused more on other people. He sounds really angry, which could be a sign of frustration as town: from what I've seen of Turnabout Mafia Deph, his scum game tends to be less frustrated than that of his town game. He's very very off track, but I personally believe that it could be a misunderstanding.

So in conclusion, Deph now moves up to the end of the null-scum list, pending his response to Brik. I'm planning to do an analysis of Nixter as well, as for now I'm very conflicted on him, and as such I'll leave him out of this next reads list.

Reads List No. 2
Town(Strong>Weak):Brik, Kyuubit
Null(Town>Scum):Lucina, Geno, Nixter, Champ, Arthur(all in no particular order)
Scum(Strong>Weak): Genis, Thomas, Dephius

Lucina's playing as usual: don't know his scum meta, so can't make any assumptions unless he posst more. Geno NEEDS TO POST MORE. Nixter I'm thinking about, and Champ and Arthur needs to start making their views on everyone else.

EVERYONE PLEASE MAKE A READS LIST NAO

town: terra, lucina, brik
null: geno, kyuubit, genis, dephius, arthur
scum: thomas, champ

I'll start with the scum:
Thomas has not been doing anything and what he has posted he never continued off of it, this seems to me he's not trying to get too deep in any sort of communication which seems like a way to lay back and be scum, perhaps he may just be inactive due to other things and time may have disjointed the current topic, but it's just what I see when evaluating what he's been doing.

Champ has solely been repeating what others said, and what he didn't repeat is just some side comments that don't really supply any thought invoking motives, this to me seems like a safe play and he's just posting for the sake of looking active and town-oriented, if he give out detailed readings, I'd like to see if it'll change my mind and move him to null and see him as just not really been rocking the boat or if he truly is just going into a non-controversial defence shell.

Moving onto the nulls:
Geno's not really posted much but that's due to his nursing school, I'm giving him a null read unlike thomas because geno has posted less, and I want to see what his reads are after he's evaluated, the tipping scale is empty for this one

Kyuubit's pretty much done what I would have done if the roles were reversed, I would have voted for me too, if I was town I would have seen it as some sort of cover-up and if I was mafia I would see it as a sweet and easy vote while seeming town, so it goes either way.

Genis has been put in a really bad spot, he gave out a bad survey, given it out too early and people got on his case for it, he's been bruised pretty badly and I'll weigh this fiasco like so: if I see him do town-oriented things and propel us in the right direction, I'll not push this on him, if he does anything remotely suspicious, he'll be in my hotseat and I'll see him as scum.

Dephius has pretty much defended himself and questioned Brik after Brik started to question Dephius, there's not much to decide if he's town or scum as such back and forth interrogation can be played out anyway of any alignment.

Arthur's been asking a few questions here and there, but he's not very much "putting his heart into it" what I mean by that is he could be doing a lot more questioning, among other things, but he's pretty reserved so far.

Onto my suspected townies:
Terra has been asking a lot for reads and motivating the town to step up and speak up, he handled Brik's meta speculation and just hasn't really done anything to suspect me him being scum.

Lucina pressured me after seeing what I posted, and posed some hard hitting questions, I see this as town and not scum because I generally think scum would be the ones agreeing with such accusations and only pressuring when there is someone who looks really scum-ish already, I will admit what I said was a pretty big error but it could have easily been made by someone that didn't have scum intentions.

Brik's been extremely vigilant in posting, giving out a lot of insight, when he started to go back and forth with Dephius, I started to have second thoughts about him when he said what he did was a "joke" I'm not much of a fan for jokes in mafia games because they can really fluctuate and warp how players look, so I'll just hope Brik refrains for such stunts that makes me question him, but with the previous things he said before stating it was a joke gave him a town background from me, so I'll let it slide.

That's my reads.

Sorry for the delay:

Speculating on the third-party probably would have led to a natural discussion about roles, drawing out mafia who might be eager to rolefish, like in All-Stars. It would also have led to discussion about possible Serial Killers or Survivors which might have been useful to know, since an SK's actions would look very different to a Survivor's and so it would be easier to look for their possible actions.
