Well, my idea for a new character of 'smash' is this: Dante, the favorite fighter-demons of the people. Also, if Sora could enter, then why not Dante.
Now, the design of Dante can be based on its four main deliveries (discounting the new 'DmC' because ... well, it's 'DmC'), being the third and fourth installment the most loved and crazy of the franchise.
Leaving aside, Dante's set of movements may be the following, taking as reference the movements of his fourth installment: 'Devil May Cry 4: SE'

Basic movements:
_ Combo: Combo A of 'Rebellion' (The whole saga)
_ Attack loaded lateral: Stinger of 'Rebellion' (The whole saga)
_ Attack loaded down: Shock! of 'Gilgamesh' (DMC4: SE)
_ Attack loaded top: Prop of 'Rebellion' (DMC3 and DMC4: SE)

Special movements:
_ Neutral special: Normal shot of 'Ebony & Ivory' (The whole saga)
_ Side Special: PF422: Penalty of 'Pandora' (DMC4: SE)
_ Special below: Real Impact of 'Gilgamesh' (DMC3 and DMC4: SE)
_ Special above: Air Trick of the 'Trickster style' (DMC3 and DMC4: SE)

Final Smash:
_ Demonic form: Dante becomes his demon form; the damage he receives is healed slowly and his attacks are enhanced in damage and area, but strong blows can still stun him and take him off the stage.

On the rest of attacks and movements you have plenty to take, so I leave to the imagination as they can be the rest of their offensive repertoire.
As for the shield and dodge, the style can be taken as reference: 'Royal Guard' and 'Trickster'; as with teasing.
