In my opinion... this should be up to the admins and not the mods.

What would happen if the user wasn't flaming or doing anything wrong?

After all, there is no point in doing anything if it isn't for the lulz.

If they report to me, then all is well

That's why I'm waiting for Hakker or DT to approve or not.

Give me more detail on how this "Guided Tour" would work

Perhaps someone can make a list of the sections and whats in them, and tell them to read the rules, and if they have a question they can just ask their tour manager.

Would this be a sticky or a usergroup?

Okay

Touring
The new users that come almost every day they say hi and all that.
Of course new users aren't familiar of the forum.
So if they want a tour, they PM one of us and ask for a tour.
They can ask any question as long as it is supposed deal with the forum.
Members will probably want to prompt their PM like so in case if they're not on at the time:

::Tour::, ::Guided Tour::, ::Q/A::

Then talk about whatever the person wishes to know about.
But
If they don't know the answer to question or what a section is about, then they'll probably have to ask one of you guys, Which I am very sure it won't happen a lot.

If it does, then I'll have to talk to one of my members.

Behavior
If one member is being unkind to the person who was given the tour would be kicked off immediately.

Example: Person given tour. Then Member starts flaming him.
PERSON REPORTS TO ME and admins. I kick off member.

Or Vice Versa

Example: Member gives tour. Then person starts flaming him.
Member may report person to admin or mod.

It is their only chance, so if they screw up, they're done for.

Application
I will probably choose people in the VIP lounge, considering I think they have the know-abouts of what do here.

If I think about letting someone in, I have to see that they do everything right, Not too many warnings, Doesn't start flame wars, etc...

-----
I strongly recommend it be a closed group so we don't have too many people who are
well... bad :hmph:

They can chat if they want to through the tour.

I think that's pretty much it...

and people who post in this topic considering to join can join
Also, we can tell them what's proper to say in certain sections, and not be extreme spammers who posts the same thing everywhere with thousands of smiley's

I choose who joins...
And the people I choose will obviously not act like that.

Pre-Types? No. Hearing the same thing over and over again will get out of hand.
I'm sure they can handle it.

I just thought of something!
In the New Users Section, maybe if one of our members happen to come by and see the newbies
They can say like "Hello newbie, if you wish to have a tour, PM me, blahblahblah..."

Not such a bad idea. But how will the tour work. Will you be telling them much about the forums, the topics they should start posting in, etc.
