So, even with those incredible reviews, Mario 3D World is the 3D Mario game which has sold the least in a week, since Mario 64.
Is this the beginning of the end?

Where, exactly? Japan has always liked the 2D games more. America is busy buying Xbones and PS4s. It's not even out in Europe or Australia yet.
Remember that not many people own a Wii U anyway. Remember that some people (like me!) are probably going to be getting it for Christmas, not now.
First week sales aren't everything. If it's not selling well after Christmas, then there's a problem.

very very satisfied with it. i was worried when i beat bowser (no im not spoilertagging bowser) that the game was super short but there's a surprising amount of extra levels afterwards to the point where i've got quite a bit of playtime and still haven't beaten them all, and i haven't even started trying to 100% collect the hidden stuff in each level.
it's a really really great game with pretty consistently great levels, it's a lot of fun multiplayer and it's obviously very pretty. peach is the only character i dont really like playing as because she's so slow, but that's really only a complaint in single player, as in multiplayer you're rarely trying to rush through the levels anyway so it's not a problem. AWESOME game.
