I was at a midnight release last night (Lucky to do so too, most everywhere in town had been presold for weeks) and I for one thought it was utterly amazing. Possibly the best of the Potter films, it felt very well paced, well scripted... I have a few complaints, but those aren't worth the first post.

How did everyone else like it?

I also was in one of my city's premieres and it was very well done. I think it was most because they used like two hours to explain only one quarter of the book. I have only one complain about it: it explained only two of the three most important parts of the book:
The search of Voldemort's soul :D
The matter of the Deathly Hallows :D
The trust in Dumbledore and Dumbledore's past
But aside from it, the movie was the best HP movie of all of them

Yeah, a lot of Dumbledore stuff didn't make it, but that's alright enough
I about applauded when Snape's actor FINALLY showed some emotion! Its been the same deadpan performance the entire series (And I'm still bitter he didn't snap and throw a tantrum in Half Blood Prince) but it was great to see him crying

I think he portrayed the heartless git quite well throughout the series, and in a sense Snape's actor (Alan Rickman) had to essentially act within an act due to his double-agent whoo-hah whatnot

I wonder what gave her the idea of revisiting the Diary and turning it into a Horcrux. That's a pretty far way back.

The movie was awesome. An excellent way to end a series.

I think I read somewhere that she had everything and every event planned long in advance... Though I could be mistaken

If she really did plan everything in advance, why were like 5? Horcruxes in the final book? And they were all in basically the same place; Hogwarts

only the diadem was at Hogwarts...unless you include Harry
Cup was in Bellatrix's vault, Gaunt ring was at that house, Diary was originally owned by Lucius, Nagini is always with Voldemort and the locket was in the Black House

You got me there, although most of them would've belonged at Hogwarts

I got mixed between why the majority of Horcrux destruction was placed in the final novel/film

She planned out most of the basic concepts right from the start, including the horcruxes, so she probably threw in the Diary plotline with the intention of it being revealed as a horcrux.
Snape's allegiance however she probably didn't have as set in stone.

I think it would make more sense to have a Horcrux destroyed in the 4th book as well as 2nd and 6th. It seems a bit unbalanced to revisit something that happened so long ago then bring it up again in full at the end.
I believe Snape's allegiance was planned from the 3rd book but wasn't fully implemented until the 6th
