Nobody has permission. Thanks for alerting us - the KBHgames is gonna be an adventure to try and pull down since it looks like all of their traffic is coming from SSF2

School proxy settings seems like a good reason. A lot of places have mcleodgaming's website blocked, but these little no name websites have a bigger chance of making it through

This. It's not like it's hard to do; back at around v0.6, it was spreading around students' flash drives at my school like a virus. Just one person (me) had to bring it from home, and suddenly everyone wanted it. I gave it to a few people, they gave it to a few people... _________________    |

There's a million reasons.
The game is not finished and we don't want the internet littered with old updates. We do periodic patches that sites almost 100% of the time don't pick up on. Not having these patches makes things even worse - they will have broken online mode. People will think our online mode is down 100% of the time, when it's not, and the site owners probably don't know what the error messages mean. We DEFINITELY don't want people to profit off of our free game that uses unlicensed IPs and has to remain nonprofit by driving traffic to their site through stealing our files, hacking out the code that detects if you are playing on mcleodgaming, and posting it with a trillion intrusive ads (like kbh) or adding ads to the actual game which is even worse. It's rude and leechy and shady behavior and the majority of the time they don't even credit us or link to MG. They just want hits on their site. The worst offenders honestly are the big Flash game host sites that just sneak into developers pages, download their games, and reupload them with no regard to the hard work that gets put in. They just want their ad revenue. |
