I wanna try to DI but sometimes I feel like it doesn't work, either I'm don't DI correctly or the blast zones are not as big as it is in ssb4 lol.

Either way, how do you guys DI? atm i'm still one of those players that use the keyboard (planning on getting a controller soon though).

I'm very glad for that too. The more Melee in this the better! I love the dash dancing, something that's painfully absent from Smash 4.

So when I DI, I have to press the arrows like i'm dashing towards the stage? or is it something else I have to do?

Just press directions on whatever you use for movement to input DI, and it will affect your trajectory. If you upthrow a high level CPU with Fox/Falco, you will find that the CPU flies very horizontal. That is the CPU DI'ing. The only thing you might be having difficulty with is inputting your DI soon enough, remembering to get the proper DI in the middle of a fight can be difficult.

that would be smash 4 styled. you need to di perpendicular, away from the closest blast zone.

For example if a move hits you on the right side of FD, straight up, it's wisest to DI left so you don't go off the right side of the stage.

This also allows you to escape combos earlier, the direction you DI will cause your knock back to slightly curve in that direction

CPUs always seem to DI away when I upthrow with Falco, they are never sent vertically, and never hit by the lasers, or is that just Falco's upthrow sending forward more than upward ?

Wait, isn't DI just moving in a direction when you're in aerial hitstun? There's no real technique to it... ?

just linking this here so EVERYONE knows what it is and how to do it, and then anyone who is unsure can be certain DI exists in SSF2.
