Final SSF2 Prediction roster! Yes, I'm going there, considering how big the starting roster is.

Well, since thanks to the tweet we know the Ice Climbers aren't going to be revealed at Smash Con, I speculate that they'll be unlockables in Beta.
You know, the kind that'll be starters in 1.0.

On that note, I wouldn't be surprised if other "obvious" veterans like King Dedede and Diddy Kong had the same fate. I mean, there has to be some Beta unlockables, and they can't just pull characters out of thin air.

I wouldn't be either. Here is one other thing I am thinking. Even though the Devs said that the other character is a newcomer, I wouldn't be surprised if the Devs revealed a Veteran as a surprise at the end of the stream (Similar to the Pac-Man "Leak" at APEX 2015). What do you guys think?

One of the devs just said that tomorrow's character is admittedly "VERY controversial", but once you play as them, you'll get over it eventually. I wonder who it could be....

If that's true, then that means a certain pirate king is confirmed!

They did give hints on stream;
1) The character is a Male
2) Inclusion in the Roster is apparently Controversial
3) They have a very different way of doing attacks, both Standards and Specials

Anyway, this is probably the "innovative", "never before seen in the Smash series" thing. They saved the biggest whammy for last.

I highly doubt it's Luffy. Stretching/attacking from a distance is hardly innovative. Dhalsim did it decades ago.
I doubt it's Ridley, too. Flying isn't a new thing, either.
And Scorpion couldn't possibly have any new mechanics. Except Fatalities, which I seriously doubt the devs would put in. I mean, they know a lot of young kids play this thing.

This isn't saying "they've got no shot in the final game". This is saying "they don't match the clues for this particular slot".

And just to put my two cents in, if Luffy and Ridley do get in, I'd prefer they be unlockables in the final game. Because, the way things are headed, there are way too many starters. There's not gonna be anyone left for the unlockable slots!
