I tested and it doesn't seem to happen to me, so I can't help here.

Throughout the replay you'll just see me throw turnips until at the end where I kill my "player 2".

your inputs might be too close to each other. like, you may think you're throwing when holding left/right, but the throwing action might still be acting upon the up input when you short hop (assuming you're jumping with tap-jump on (jumping with up)).
otherwise idk.

My inputs aren't close to each other, and if I'm still holding the button up, it'll be thrown upwards, not downwards lol. I tested this with a separate jump key along with tap-jump on, both give the same results.

It happens whenever you try throwing with the c-stick when shorthopping, and at the very start of it.

okay so I checked this out again
for me, whenever I throw with anything other than C-up, at the beginning of a short hop my turnip gets thrown forward in the direction I'm facing.
C-up will make my throw up without fail though.

looking into it, I think it has to do with when a turnip is being thrown during jump-squat frames (peach is in jump-squat animation for 2 frames), which are the frames when Peach is squatting down to the ground before she jumps up and lifts off of the ground. any turnip thrown at this time that is not thrown with C-up get thrown forward.
I'm not sure why you get a downward/dropped throwing result though because that never happened to me.

Also does anyone actually use their midair/second jump to change momentum while floating?
Like you could float to your opponent then quickly release your float and float with your midair jump backwards? It changes momentum quite quickly but is there any use?

edit: woops forgot you can't float then float again of course silly me, but I meant that you can jump forward then use your other midair jump to float backwards to quickly change momentum.

After looking at Peach today on stream, it got me thinking. I like her new design, but she looks so thin. I am not saying that she is fat in the main games, but her dress looks less curvy.

However it does show her actual thin self that we see in the Mario striker games.
