But it was a 1.2 trailer. They probably don't show things from 1.3 in a 1.2 trailer.

the devs sometimes reveal/tease content in a trailer for the next update, but said content isn't actually in the next update.
they revealed isaac in a v0.9b direct, yet he's not playable in that version.
they showcased final smashes in v1.1 announcement, yet smash ball are still disabled, so we still can't use them.

This is partially incorrect. Isaac was explicitly revealed for the next version (Beta) and Void specifically said that Isaac would not be playable in 0.9b.

Waluigi's reveal is ambiguous however but it does seem like they're explicitly revealing him for 1.2

basically this.

it's a possibility that he won't be available in the 1.2 update but I highly doubt that.
