There is something strange about it.
Maybe that the movement of the feet is too sudden, and that the body movement doesn't follow it. His hands also needs to be rounder and to move... like Kirby does. What you're describing, is called bounciness.

His arms swerve twice before his feet move up, and that makes it look weird. His arms should move with his body.
