Well, it was a guess, when you said "He's off" I thought you meant "off the forum" meaning banned.

But the weekend off of school/job/whatever was totally my next guess.

No... it's truly not.
Make Optic be a guy who worked at McDonald's then found that one of his colleagues was an assassin hired by a magical superpower, then Optic was kidnapped then tried to escape, but was transformed into a hedgehog by magic...
