How long have you been playing? I started yesterday and I've killed Mom three times and died at least 10. It does get a lot easier once you get Azazel.

only a couple of hours. Busy with a lot of school stuff right now so I haven't been able to play it much.

Azazel is kinda lame for me, I much prefer fast shooting and high speeds, an onslaught beat down

i have everyone but Azazel. i already beat Satan and Isaac just got to do more s*** and get all the items

I've beaten the heart once already, and two of the challenges.

You get to flank everything with a fast charging laser and skip the spike fest that is the depths. The Cathedral fight isn't the best fight to pick with him but it's still fun most of the time.

I beat Mom's Heart just now with a Joker Card still in my pocket, so I figured I'd go fight Satan next. Imagine my surprise when it sent me to the Cathedral instead.

You think they overhauled Mom's Heart this time around, wait till you see what they did with Isaac.

Well, a routine challenge run supposed to end with beating Mom ended up taking me all the way to fighting Satan. I got two Runes of Ehwaz from a previous challenge, which opens a hole to the next level no matter what, and one thing led to another, and then I killed Satan.

Jesus the two key rooms are so worth it.

I ended up one the last level (for a challenge run at least), got a special two key room and ended up creating explosive tear bombers while charming everything into killing each other with a lasers while strutting along with crab hands.

Edit: Oh and those absrub pickup numbers are from me cheating, but it's more like "Well I tried, might as well test some stuff before I die".

I just finished an Azazel run, got the Wafer on the first floor.
Around the Caves or something, I grabbed a Converter and turned like 10 soul hearts into heart containers (while in the boss battle, so that the two Monstros took damage every time I converted a dark heart).
Plus, there was a baby familiar that spat out attack flies, and on top of all that I got actual Brimstone.
And a bottle of pills that kept giving me full health and bomb dropping pills, and the small baggy that lets me hold two pills at the same time.

I murdered Satan without breaking a sweat.
