I'm pretty sure they could get away with Kamek being a Yoshi character. I would love to see that, Kamek is awesome. We also need more villains, and Kamek fits the sub-villain role and can be paired with Bowser.

Woah Just...Woah Please tell me this is a mistake on your part or else....mindblown. Anyways, yeah, wasn't sure if Yoshi's Island actually was his first appearance, so didn't know if he would be considered a Yoshi character. Now I'm sure.

They are both Magikoopas after all.
His first appearance was indeed SMW2: Yoshi's Island.

Where are the others, any other so called Kameks are just magikoopas, and not necessarily THE Kamek. If he is a direct underling to Bowser then i can see it.
