I just got my temporary phone's charger to work. Now the phone's almost normal except the charger port is a bit 'picky' and the screen's darker than normal.

Learned my copy of Brawl is beginning to die.

How so?

The portraits are f*** up in the results screen (I have them modded, and they're appearing as default) and it has trouble loading battle portraits. The battle portraits are default and it makes the game have to stop the music temporarily.

I'd say it isn't the copy, unless the hacks are saved right on the disc.

They aren't. But the thing is, it only doesn't work for a few characters. So I'd assume something on the disk is f*** it up as it worked just fine for ages. I had Viewtiful Joe for months now and it hasn't had a problem before.

Assuming you have a strong enough computer, download Dolphin, and load from the disc. Then you'll see if something is messed up. As for having something for months and then not working, it's a hack, so you never know when it'll mess up, I've modified a FEW textures for an old game, and it worked perfectly fine for a month, then it messed up.

Brawl hacking doesn't break the game itself iirc. My computer has a lot of s*** on it and it won't run great at all with dolphin.

Well then, I guess it is the disc... but I don't exactly know how that could possibly be it... unless the disc itself has some wear-and-tear.

More likely to be the SD or whatever you're loading the hacks from than the disc itself.

Well, the fact that the battle portraits that are default don't work would have to be the disk. It also has random loading problems.
