No, the best you can do is use deduction to heighten the chance of lynching a mafia. This is exactly what 194 meant by relying to much on your role. I remember the time where EVERYONE made deductions. Now everyone just expects the evidence to come on a silver platter and that's exactly why the mafia keep winning.

How did none of us notice this very obvious hint? I'm kinda suspicious of DJ Wizard Cop, because of the whole mass-claim thing, and the fact that early on he kept saying that he was Santa (who is not a Mafia)", which he very well might be, but around the third time he said that same thing, I got suspicious.

In other words we can't base a scum vibe off of just that alone.Yes, you can. If you haven't noticed by now, Pachino has played like that in a number of mafia games (again, re-read MG Mafia 6 Layton) and has turned out to be mafia in a lot of them. Even if he isn't a mafia right now, that behavior is terribly scummy and does not benefit the town at all.The same goes for Dephius, the only reason he said anything last game was because he had an investigation role, I have no knowledge of how he plays without it. As I earlier stated, just popping in, saying, "I agree, Vote: Blablabla", and then leaving, is not pro-town at all, even if you happen to be a townie. He shouldn't limit himself to the power of his role (unless his role ACTUALLY prevents him from contributing, like a voteless townie). Also I do find it hard to believe that you didn't know ballos was the final boss considering all of the post that came directly after shoop's claim. Which would be... and this... Take your time to explain though, I'm not going for a lynch. Never did I say I didn't know Ballos wasn't the final boss; it's just that it didn't click to me that final boss = mafia. Besides, Shoop turned out to be third-party. It isn't unheard of for 194 to create third-party roles out of people you would expect to be godfathers/mafia (Layton mafia; I was Don Paolo, the main antagonist of the Professor Layton series, and I turned out to be a third-party instead of the godfather. The name "Don" should have easily put me as a mafia, but I wasn't a mafia anyway). | | | | |

@Everyone
I don't think anyone realizes that playing a themed Mafia game isn't the same as playing a normal one. There are a number of new rules.
1. A themed Mafia game - especially one with as predictable a roster as Cave Story - gives you a role list. Role lists make Mass Claim a sure fire way to find Mafia. 2. In a themed Mafia, you can claim without claiming. If you just claim your name, it only gives the Mafia a vague idea of what your role does, but still gives us the advantages of counter claims. Most of us are probably vanillas anyway. This makes Mass Claim ten times more effective. 3. KNOWLEDGE OF WHATEVER THE GAME IS BASED OFF OF IS ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL TO PLAY. IF YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CAVE STORY, YOU ARE AT A PROFOUND DISADVANTAGE. I'd even say that you're an impediment to whatever side you're playing for. 4. IF SOMEONE CLAIMS THE FINAL BOSS, YOU VOTE FOR THEM. END OF STORY.
I'll probably come up with more later.
@Panthera: Making a bogus argument on purpose doesn't make sense at all. Why didn't you come up with a better one?
@Densestu: Why on earth shouldn't you believe my claim, besides OMGUS? I bet it's 100% more plausible than anything you can come up with.
Vote: Equinox
Inactivity hurts everyone.
Current FoSs on Pachino (Even if he is town, he shouldn't jump in and out like that.) BelieveBlood (Defending me? Why?) Panthera (Bogus arguments on purpose? What?) and Densetsu (Ridiculous reasons for suspecting me)
...Which is almost everyone whose posted. Which means that we're going to have another MG 7 fiasco. :///

First of all DJ wizard I'm not defending you. Pathera's bogus argument just stood out like a sore thumb and I could not let someone get away with such a ludicrous post, especially since it gave me mafia vibes. Secondly, the mafia could have been given a safe claim at the start of the game, it's understandable that densetsu doesn't still believes you especially since you seem to have a habit of repeating your role over and over and over again. The fact that you claim as a vanilla also doesn't allow you to prove your role in Thirdly, I find it quite strange you don't suspect Dephius. Explanation?

Right now, I'm reading BB as a town player right now so my suspicions are off him for now. What I do find puzzling, is that, as BB said, DJW hasn't suspected Dephius of anything. As it stands DJW, you have suspected everyone who has posted recently except for Dephius. You yourself stated that "Inactivity hurts everyone" and that "Even if he is town, he shouldn't jump in and out like that". Why then, have you not said that Dephius is suspicious to you? Why are you "defending" him? Sounds like a scum team to me.

After some research, I've discovered that Ballos is more or less unrelated to the main villains. You make me suspicious when you claim to be a specific non-Mafia over and over. (You also make me suspicious when you misspell my username, jerk.) However, I'm not gonna vote on you yet, cause that's not very concrete evidence. And there's not much other evidence against you, or anyone. BTW, if you're telling the truth and my hypothesis on why Sue died last night is right, then you could have put yourself in danger... Why Equinox?

Because Equinox is terribly inactive. It's an attempt to pressure Equinox to come back online/get the town to lynch an inactive.

Uh, I don't find anyone too suspicious yet. Panthera is probably the most suspicious for me, and even he isn't that suspicious. The part that gets my attention is how he first seems to claim that he didn't know that much about Cave Story: And then after Believeblood pointed out that others already stated that Ballos is the final boss, Panthera kind of changed his defense to: So uhh, back when you're voting, did you know that you were voting for the final boss?

I think that goes two ways. The good way is that the town can make predictions (hopefully right predictions) based on contradictions and process of elimination and get rid of mafia. That's already been said, I believe. The bad way is that someone could easily look up who that person's character is/was. Say like someone claims a main character or a powerful role or something. If the mafia doesn't know, a quick search will give them all they need on that person. Then the mafia will easily pick them off at night. But, unless one of the mafia members have a ability to see other people's roles, then they have no way of actually predicting ALL of their abilities. As for DJ's claim... He DID say that he wanted santa before the game started and allegedly got santa so that's kinda weird. But any townie doesn't have any reason to lie. Unless he got a powerful role and doesn't want to announce it in order to prevent the mafia from killing him. Or he could be mafia and protecting himself again, like in the last game. From the games I've been playing/looking over, Pachino has been acting the same way he's acting now. As for Dephius, he has been popping in and out. But he is still generally new, if you want to look at it that way. He's been in...2 games including this one. I mean, look at how I was first playing. And, I'm not going to vote for Panthera yet, I want to hear what he has to say in response to 135. So right now, I'm being apprehensive. Like not wanting a mislynch. And I promise to be more active.

What? I didn't vote at all. I wanted the town to wait so that we could discuss before going to a hasty day one lynch when we clearly had at the very least a week left to discuss. I never voted for Shoop, and I never voted for no lynch. After I warned everyone not to bandwagon and to unvote, the rest of the town hammered on Shoop before I could log back in. I kind of figured Ballos was the final boss after the town hammered and was trying to unvote after the possibility that Ballos was a jester role.

DJW made quite the post about how being inactive is bad for the town, makes a little qualm about Pachino being inactive is bad, votes Equinox (an inactive player), yet he conveniently "forgets" to mention you, who happens to be another inactive player. Recently, you have been starting to post a little bit, but that still doesn't change the fact that the only thing you've done so far is make one-liner posts, bandwagon, and lurk into the shadows. Of course, this is only your second mafia game (on MG, don't know how many you've played anywhere else), so the whole inactive thing is pretty much expected, but the fact that DJW conveniently ignored your inactive behavior raises some eyebrows.

Actually, this. I would've posted by now, but my computer has had problems. It's all good now. I'll be active for now on. Now, about DJ voting for me, I understand, since I've been inactive. After skimming through all the posts, I'm getting suspicious vibes off of him. Pachino, Dephius (recently started posting), and me. @DJW Why didn't you vote for either of those two? That kinda shows that you may (or may not) be a scum team with either one of them. I'll wait for you to respond back to BB's post, then I'll decide if I wanna vote you or not. You're getting mixed emotions from a lot of people right now. It makes me want to wait a little bit more.
