That's basically what I did. The only real difference it that I made it a bit skinner and the palette is based off of his official artwork. There's some other noticeable stuff like the hands, hair position, height, etc.

Ever heard of Capcom vs SNK? It's a pretty cool game with neat sprites and Zero is also playable.

That's what I'm using, actually, but thanks for the suggestion. In fact I was planning on using some of the attacks as refs for tilts.

Hey, yeah the head definitely looks better although Zero looks like he's doing the expression
He also looks like he has 1 thumb and 2 fingers on his right hand (our left).

I've tried to fix it on the left... (I tried, lol I still fail hands)



Also, for colours, there's very low contrast between the 2 darkest shade of black.

I didn't think that looked right when I did it like that, the face, but it may grow on me.

I did the hands like that intentionally since the style, IIRC, shrinks down the hands so they can be smaller and most of the time the fingers aren't shown. I do like your attempt. If others say to change the hands, I'll do it. I'm keeping the face change.

Attempt to animate the sprite. The legs are my main focus now. Trying to copy the movements of the SvC stance, but left out a lot of things, since some motion would be impossible.

I like the progress so far, but i feel like if a few pixels were removed from the outer angle of the base they could appear a little thinner.

I actually tried that, and it looks okay, but the reason I kept thick was to keep it accurate to the GBA sprites, since the thickness in those sprites make sense to me, imo.

Tried adding two more frames and editing the others.

I like how it's coming along! Very promising so far.

Spent a good part of the night working on this. I may need to fix the hand on our right in the 4th frame, but other than that, I think it came out good. Anything needs to be touched up before making the hair?

I can't offer much because I'm not a spriter but I personally think he's looking pretty good.

It feels a bit awkward because there isn't movement on his right hand, although it isn't on the original I feel it'd make sense for it to be here.

I'll see what I can do.
