Several conservatice groups are angered because of her South Lebanese origins. South Lebanon is the base of Hezbollah's power.
Edit - I am aware that calling it xenophobia is not nice, but it seems to be the only apt definition to me to describe the level of mudracking that occurred. (I'm on the fence whether I should link that. I'm not fond of spreading libel.) Also, I am saying the xenophobia is neo-conservative, with which I mean it is propagated by several neo-conservative media outlets. I am not saying every neo-conservative is a xenophobe, nor any other qualitative claims about neo-conservatives whatsoever.
