Watch Whale Wars much?

Hmm, I'm not fond of whaling, except by indigenous people. This would include traditional grind hunting on the Faroese Islands.

Commercial whaling is just horribly destructive to ecosystems. Traditional methods tend to be far less damaging, with provisions.

Whaling is bad and all, but ramming ships is not the way to protest it, especially in the antarctic. Down there, help is nowhere near if you go down. I don't know about you, but I value human life over whales.

Also, the crew of the Paul Watson's boats are completely incompetent. They are fresh out of college students or old hippies who have little to no experience in seafaring. The few professionals they manage to bring along all quit as soon as they finished one tour. Their captain is a lying bastard who goes and cries to the media if the Japanese so much as look at him funny. Even Greenpeace doesn't want anything to do with these guys.

But, the funny thing is, the Japanese say that they hit them for no reason.

The Japanese sprayed the smaller boat with water after they hit them, too.

This could only be more awesome if they used wooden ship from the age of sail.

I think you misread it, the Japanese rammed the protesters.

The broadsides would be b**** awesome. Besides, the whalers could then have a deranged captain with a fixation on a white whale. And their ship will be called the Ahab.

Any story is Awesome just by adding pirates to it.

Wouldn't Ahab rather be the name of their captain? (Rendered Ahabu ofcourse?) The ship is called the Pequod. No pirates, though.

Though I personally prefer them using triremes, biremes and such. I could settle for a drakkar, though.
