You make a post. For each whole hour that has passed since the most recent post, you get a point. However, your overall score is the number of points you have divided by the number of posts you've made in this topic.
(Note that I do not count posts into your ratio that didn't get you any points. Thank me later.)

Example:
B posts 1 hour after this post, and gets 1 point.
B posts 2 hours after that, and gets 2 more points (no one posts in between)
C posts 2 hours after B, and gets 2 points.
B posts 1 hour after that, and gets 1 more point.

Overall, B has an overall score of (1 + 2 + 1)/3 = 4/3 while C has an overall score of 2.

If you wish you can request a reset. This will reset your points and posts back to the beginning, but you will also get a 1 post penalty. You might choose to do this if you feel like you've garnered too many posts to make any significant increase in your ratio. On the other hand, you will lose your standing at the time. So choose wisely.
