Thats like picking Mario as the Mario Strikers representative when Petey Piranha of all things would arguably fill that roll better (not that I want a Strikers rep or Petey, just for the sake of the example here). Someone that actually represents the Mystery Dungeon subseries instead of "hey its Pikachu oh boy yeah" would be dope, plus it would open the door to some inarguably amazing soundtracks by proxy of a PMD stage. A mon that plays a larger role in that specific series and uses items/tactics found in their home games - Orbs, Seeds, all the other stuff - instead of merely attacking could make for a very unique spin on the Pokefighter theme. Grovyle comes to mind obviously, or even Gengar to add a Trickster spin on top. Just gonna use Squirtle as the example here, you could have Pokesquirtle using his established moveset focusing on water/shell attacks and, ya know, being a turtle, and then theres also PMDSquirtle thats more of a tactical fighter using a bunch of different tools and only relying on watery stuff for a few select moves here and there, relying on other stuff instead.
