Gentoo is the only acceptable distro because installing it properly is a badge of honor

I liked Xubuntu quite a bit but the lack of overall polish got to me after a while

gentoo just takes a while to install because its being compiled from source code and on top of that i like to customize tons of s*** during install. its not as hard as i used to think, but it definitely very time-consuming. arch is about the same difficulty, but shorter since you dont compile from src

also xubuntu is whatever imo. CentOS, Fedora, Gentoo, Lubuntu, and bunsenlabs linux are acceptable distros. Arch would be here, but its overused seriously. like go to /r/unixporn or any other linux sub and see how many people are using arch

i can't see myself installing any linux distro in 2017 but i guess debian is usable in my experience. i'd rather just use freebsd
