Ok, so I've been meaning to make a post, and I most definitely will, but I have some bad news...my laptop went belly-up so I have to send it to sunny california (the other side of the continent). I'm going to try to get something working in the meanwhile, but my posts are noticeably even more sporadic, despite my having free time now. (Funny how that happens, hmm?)

Ok, there are three new playable artes and two new non-playable artes.

I need to polish one more non-playable arte, and then possibly play around with 3 more playable artes. One involving singing, one involving shadows and the other involving stars.

After that, that'll be all the artes that are going to be in this world sans 1 or 2, that I won't worry about til book 2.

Just for general trivia's sake:

You have a lot of talk about disciples choosing there arte, however a lot of OC disciples seem born into their art or the arte chooses them (Spiriturm namely). Are we just doing it wrong? Or are do we just happen to be choosing the artes are like that for the most part?

Just something I thought of to discuss while waiting. Also the end of chapter 2 was very cool to read, I forgot to say. That's exactly how I would have had Tsubaki act in that same situation.

I'm in. I'll look into making a new OC. You mentioned above about only having three. Could players with only one go ahead and make two? or would you rather us wait?

That's actually a really good question. It's sort of a mix of both. Technically, anyone who is born with omnividence can learn any of the artes (excluding Oraculum). However, all omnivident individuals are naturally attuned to a particular arte. Traditionally, there would be a test, and according to various predispositions of character, talent, and life experiences the disciple chooses the arte that best fits them. In the RP, I've had Miss Rachel simply point out what the abilities of students were without them having to do any tests to see which arte they were naturally attuned to. (Essentially, I saved us a few pages of RP for those who had yet to discover their powers)

On the flip side though, the artes can choose the individual. An omnivident individual who's abilities awaken and remain untrained for a period of time naturally exhibit arte abilities. In this case, the arte they are naturally attuned to becomes the tool of their spirit energy, so in a sense the arte seems to choose the individual.

Here's an example, an omnivident youth who has had a near-death experience would most likely become Spiritorum if their abilities manifested without anyone to train them. However, if they found someone with the knowledge to train them in the artes of their preference, they could choose to become Animalium before their powers manifested. They'd be hindering their potential, yes, but the decision was theirs.

Personally, I think I'd like to see your RPing more before you add another character to the mix. Once I see you've got a firm grasp on Lotus' character development, I may let you be an exception for the cutoff of character addition.

Ok! Pretty sure I got responses from everyone except for one person. Tomorrow the new chapter will go up. Post your characters before then if you plan on having any. (Remember, there will be a book 2 as well, so don't worry about being stuck with your characters forever. Book 2 will begin at the beginning of the new school year)

Okay I've been tossing around two character ideas, and that's why I asked Wizzquizz where he remembered seeing the character limit.

I'm going to post a Dormientes sometime today no matter what, but I also became really found of the idea of an Animalium that is paired with a termite queen. That's why I wanted to know the character limit, I don't want to type up too many characters.

lol sorry about that, I kind of just skipped over that.

The limit is 2 characters per person for the time being.
