Hey guys, I'm back and breathing. At this point, there are probably very few of you who recognize me, but you'll become familiar soon enough.

I do all of my spriting in MSPaint, pixel by pixel, and plan to continue doing so.

Anyways, have some basic planning.

I began to make Shine and Bright a year or so ago, but I must start anew.
And for goodness sake, it's a WIP, though at this point, I hesitate to even call it that yet. I know some of you out there are gonna complain, and I have the defenses and sarcasm ready to go.

You only think you're ready. Looks like you have some skills, can't wait to see it whole.

My apologies for being inactive these past several days. I was very ill, but am now recovering. Expect some more work on Mr. Shine soon!

Possible palette?

Changed palette, and did a rough shading.

It's pretty banded, although I suppose that is just KSSU style.

Yeah, it's the style. As it progresses, I'm hoping the black becomes less evident by making other outlines more so.

I'm still contemplating what I did here, using the dark shade on the inside-top. I think it turned out well, but it pokes out a little too much.

I'm really liking how this is shaping out. I'm a little curious on how you will do the blue aura though.

I think your outline is a tiny bit too dark. But it may only be my personnal opinion.

I had thought about it, but I want to take a different approach. It's going to be hard to implement it into this style...
I could add subtle effects of the blue after the sprites are done, or outline/highlight the existing outline. Or something entirely different.


I think I'm going to stick with it for now, but seeing as it's been said twice, I may want to rethink it. I'm still feeling pretty confident about it.

As for what I'm working on next, the face is proving to be a little difficult. I tried a few times to briefly outline it, but it's hard to keep the shape and perspective equivalent to the body. It keeps ending up as a 2-D face on "3-D" body.
(I understand the body isn't 3-D, but it does have a bit of depth, as opposed to my attempts at faces)

The face needs to match the curve of the inside crescent, and stay within the bounds of it. I'm going for a sort of Man in the Mood feel.

I also need to touch up the bottom tip of the crescent.
