his solo work is awesome, I'm glad he left RHCP. Niandra Lades is god-tier lo-fi.

Can't say I'm glad he left RHCP but his solo work is brilliant.

I was relaxing with my friend listening to some of his records the other day and John came on

Tiny bump.
I decided to listen to his new solo album, I wasn't expecting much, to be honest I wasn't much of a fan of his previous solo work. The Chili Peppers are my favourite band by the way as I really like funk rock. But anyway, I saw a review of his new solo work, and it was very negative. I pretty much assumed I would feel the same as the reviewer as it seemed like he was saying a lot of things that I suspected I wouldn't like of the album. Anyway, I decided to give it a listen anyway. From what I have heard so far, I actually kind of like it... Is that weird?

It has many negative reviews because it's too electric. John is supposed to be a guitarist not a DJ :P
For what it is, yes it's pretty good. Other than that it is considered s*** :P

People criticise it much beyond it being different to their expectations of John.
