You may have already noticed the banner on the forums today stating that the forums will be closed on April 30th. Sadly the news is true (and no, it's unrelated to coronavirus). Unfortunately the software that the forums run on is no longer healthily maintained, and it hasn't been for some time. In the interest of user safety and reducing the amount of maintenance required to keep them online, the executive decision has been made that it's time to say goodbye to the beloved MG forums at the end of April. As much as it pains us to have to do this, activity on the forums was already at an all-time low with the evolution of other social media platforms like Discord, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc. We encourage you to like/follow/subscribe to MG on our other social platforms in order to keep up with the community.

Rest assured, as far as everything else is concerned it will be business as usual at McLeodGaming moving forward!

What will happen to all of the content? That's a lot of history!

We plan to convert all the forum content into a read-only format for preservation purposes. This may take some time so it may not be available immediately after closing, but in the interim the forums will be put into maintenance mode until the conversion is completed. (Who knows, while we're at it maybe we'll also revive a read-only archive of the original MG forum archives for nostalgia?)

Will there ever be a replacement?

Not in the immediate future, but we'll see. The forums were not nearly as heavily used as our other social accounts, so replacing them may not be worth the time and effort to manage them. However as MG continues to grow and our needs change, there may be other ways to connect with fellow MG fans introduced some day.

In the meantime please savor these last few weeks of forum activity. The MG Forums had a truly good run (12 years to be exact, nearly 15 if you count the OG forums!), so let's take this time to celebrate their legacy!

Jokes aside, things sure were pretty fun so far, we squashed a lot of bugs and found many techniques in SSF2, and who knows how many more have we yet to discover? I'm certainly going to miss this place though, I felt pretty comfortable in here with posting most if not all the things i could contribute to SSF2 and its community (In fact, i've been labbing Waluigi every now and then to try and make a """tips and tricks""" sort of thing for him, and find a way to make the most out of certain moves, be it situational or not)

I wonder what kind of final screenshots are we going to put into the SSF2 Screenshots thread before the Forums close, be it for jokes, normal things, or a sort of "tribute" to this place

I've been in this forum since 13 and it's been my favorite hangout place for a long-time despite favoring twitter nowadays.
It's sad to see it finally go.

Well everyone, about this notice that might shocked for all our members throughout this long, funny, gorgeous and nitpicky community. I wonder nothing but I expect a lot of effort during its last weeks, moreover, these were one of my places I have decided to post my (and your) contributions.

Labbing so tough, reporting bugs, making and surpassing the event records (wink to craft's epic matches about reaching the lowest time possible), giving our ideas to make SSF2 a better casual but in fact more competitive game, and for sure. The "Really Bad Super Smash Flash 2 Suggestions" thread that we all the active members are this time have carried out anylonger.

Indeed I'm gonna miss y'all through the forums platform. Make sure to fill the threads as soon as possible.

Even though I'm no longer an active member - I'll always have nostalgia for this place, my first real venture into the online world.

God, I was cringey back then. Well, moreso than now, haha.

Given that this will likely be my last MG forum post ever, it's hard to think about what I can throw in here. Maybe something nice and sentimental. Maybe something I would have posted unironically when I first began using this place. Maybe, just maybe...

By the way, you announced this on the day my forum account turned eight years old. Times flies.

Perhaps this is the end of forum formats as a whole. A silver lining, if you may, is that McLeodGaming is everywhere now, instead of just a small corner of the internet.

So maybe that's why I haven't seen so much activity around here...
I may not have been the most active member in the forums, but I did spend a good part of my time here.
Seeing something like this happen hurts.
Damnit and I had plans for a sins confession thread. Guess that's not happening.
I'm gonna miss the smilies.
But this brings its fair share of questions:
Where will we post bug reports and the like?
Will the questions in the ask dev thread be answered?
Will the discord become a pseudo-forum of sorts to house everyone that is here?
