I'm getting a new computer soon ( a desktop), and I was thinking about which processor I should choose. I was thinking about getting i7 extreme, but some people say it is actually slower than a core 2 duo, so im really confused. and core 2 quad and xeon doesnt look so bad either...
So I want to see your opinions
btw, I play hardcore games like crisis and stuff like modern warfare 2 and i dont really care about the price. I just want the best computer processor.
If you have any other suggetions you are more than welcome. Thanks.

Get an AMD CPU. Intel lost their multi-cpu advantage already. i7 is a waste to be honest. If you want to have four CPUs, might as well make it 64-bit so you can put in more RAM.

You can lock this topic if you want. I just decided to wait for sandy bridge which probably is i9 which comes out at the end of this year.
