Except that Super Mario Sunshine was that rare example of a Mario game that wasn't universally loved. I liked it but I was talking about a completely new concept that would revolutionize the platformer genre again like Mario 64 and Mario Galaxy did. _________________

well i guess they could always do something like dimension hopping where each is like a different version of the mushroom kingdom or bowser's castle

Nor Super Mario 3D World is taking place on the Mushroom Kingdom and prior that, Super Mario Sunshine, and prior that, Super Mario World, and prior that, Super Mario Bros. 2. Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing a different dimension gimmick to Mario. Maybe there's a world where a monster besides Bowser took over the Mushroom Kingdom?

Reviews for 3D World have been incredibly good. Getting 9 out of 10 or better pretty much everywhere.
