I would've expected Black Mage or Sora to be a Square-Enix rep. Hell, even Geno would've done it. But Cloud? I get his popularity and importance in non-Nintendo games, but man. Sakurai has no bounds I guess.
Cloud's only Nintendo appearances are FF Explorers, the Theatrythms, and Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories I believe.

yeah i'm sure a side character who was in one game twenty years ago would've been a better add than one of the most famous video game characters of all time yes good idea. you should be in charge

really you can just play Dissidia and see that most of the FF characters who were actually on Nintendo consoles have more interesting moveset potential than Anime Swordsman #126
