Character Specific Tournaments?

So I recently got the idea of hosting character specific tournaments after viewing another character specific tournament on YouTube... In other words this is by no means an original idea, but... My question is would you guys be interested in character specific tournaments in SSF2? I'd personally like to start hosting one or two of them every month but if the communities not interested then I won't waste my time.
I already have what I believe to be a decent format to go with. Of course the tournaments would be character specific. The tourney would probably utilize the same rules as the X Tournament series. Three stocks, seven minutes, no hazards, no items, and so on. You'd also probably have the same stages available but I'd also probably consider Jungle Hijinx, Mirror Chamber, and Clock Town. (A lot of people seem to be experimenting with these stages as of late.) My only problem right now is deciding whether I should limit the amount of people who can participate. Not only that but I'm also puzzled as to how I should choose characters. I was thinking of going in order of the roster but I'm also considering hosting polls to see what the people want and striking characters off as we go. I just think that this would lead to some parts of the community feeling neglected... Anyway... I just want to see what the SSF2 community thinks about the idea. And a miner disclaimer... Winning this tournament will by no means make you the king or queen of said character. |
