People say Flash is the best way to make video games. So what makes it better.

Well, if you really know how to use GM, it can do anything Flash can do, but Flash can be hosted directly on websites. I never used Flash but it's not even meant for games...

Once you upload the game on YOYO games there is HTML to enable on your web site.

Anything else?

Flash is better for getting you into the business of game making, as it uses a language relatively closely linked to C, which is often used in conjunction with C++ for video games programming. It uses a language that is not too many steps away from console programming, whereas Gamemaker doesn't.

What? The only similarities I see between Flash and C are similar syntax and use to make games. Flash is an object oriented programming language, C is a low/mid level imperative language. C++ is just C with object oriented programming.

One thing I can say about Flash is that it is very portable. You can take basically run it on any web browser with the appropriate plugin. There is no need to download anything but temporary files.

well, I don't know much about game maker( when I tried to use it, before i got flash, it wouldn't open) , but isn't that link to download it. Like Thaiberium said, you only need temporary files to play flash games(where as game maker requires you to keep the files). Also, you can do a lot more with flash besides games(movies, Quizzes, sites, etc).

Flash uses Actionscript, which is a language based on Javascript, which is based on Eckmascript, which is based on C.

It's very similar in syntax and functions, meaning it's easier to progress to C later than learning a "language" with completely different syntax, as in Gamemaker.

You can do movies and quizzes on GM, but many people are too lazy. It would take a loooong time to make a move on GM. And it'd be all sprites probably.

Yeah, but I just wouldn't use the term "closely related". C syntax is the easiest to learn in my opinion so it really isn't that big of a hurdle. I would definitely recommend Flash over Gamemaker though. I've tried both and personally, I prefer Flash.

Not unless you use WiiCade's API

lern2bing

http://labs.wiicade.com/remote/download.html

also, the API seems kinda outdated, since it's usually for Flash MX 2004, but might as well test it out.

I am better off If they started to make Wii Gamemaker(Like DS Gamemaker) and I will sell it to Nintendo to put it on Wiiware.
Also I can take my gamemaker game. Drag it to the CD drive and burn it. Then sell it to a game publisher. My website isn't made for games that I made.
