I was helpless using BBM (who I understand is vulnerable to chain grabs so I thought it was just the MU) but then I switched to BM (who I'm not sure of in this area) and the exact same thing happened.

The thing Huey is that if you DI up you should be able to escape. It is harder at early percentages, but at later percentages it should be easy to DI out of. Also Marth, as said earlier in the topic, doesn't really have a good chain grab compared to other characters since it is quite easy to DI out of.

Wait which chain grab happened?

While that does work going up is more ideal. I have many experiences where people go up instead of out and I miss the next grab because of it, or maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about. I know someone is going to correct since I'm terrible at having discussions like these. I only gave advice out of personal experience as a Marth player.

I'm not sure which throw it was. Looked like forward if I had to guess. 100% sure DIing out did nothing for me but I don't remember if I tried up. Gonna test it in a bit

DI out doesn't help because the move already sends basically straight out.

Out DI would do this:

[0 degrees + 15 degrees (attack angle)] / 2 = 7 degrees. That's like no difference. You'd get a little shift from SDI but nothing that could break the CG.

However if you DI up:

[90 degrees + 15 degrees (attack angle)] / 2 = 52.5 degrees. Pretty big difference.

Thanks, papa TSON. I didn't know that was the formula. Cool

Does anyone think Marth's SH should be a little lower than it is?

Well it's as good as in Melee : you can do SH double fair.
If it was lower, it would be nearly non existent.

Well, Marth is my favourite character, He's just so amazing. No one could have beaten me in online mode except zero suit zamus lol. but his counter-attack needs more improvements.. but still he's my favourite.

I do agree with his counter. I want it to be a little faster because it already has the power it has in Brawl and Smash 4.

Counter is already really good. It doesn't need a buff. It trades some of its traditional active frames for KO power in this game, which I suppose might not float everyone's boat, but it remains a really good move.
