Alright, being me, I want to be more... anime-loving and get room decorations of anime things, such as posters, figures, or anything of the like. These animes and similar things include:

Death Note
Angel Beats!
Kodomo no Jikan
Kodomo no Jikan: Ni Gakki
Bizarre Jerry 5
Vocaloid

However, I was also thinking of getting a Ted Kasane cosplay, wig and clothing, and it goes up to about 150-160$.

So, should I get the cosplay or the posters and stuff?

Edit: Before I made this topic, a friend said cosplay, so I'll do that vote for him, as he didn't register on here.

uh, do you really want to cosplay?

If I were you, I'd get the posters or figures, because you can always hide them.

I, personally, want to show my Otaku-ness. Just to show that there's someone around who likes anime. So I'm wondering which one I should go for.

But yeah, it'd be nice to decorate the room up a bit. It looks rather boring, white walls, white dresser, white sheet (No pun intended), black TV, white doors, silver knobs, white Wii. Kind of boring.

Guy, I'll tell you this now- being outspoken about your hobbies and interests isn't a good idea if you're afraid of other people's judgment! Someone's gonna get on your tail for it, and I'd hate to see you get all depressed 'cause somebody decided to be insensitive! Guardians and siblings aren't going to be any less forgiving in the matter- in fact, they'd probably be more vocal, if only for your concern.

The avenue you're tellin' us you want to travel down is long, treacherous and expensive in more ways than one! My earnest advice for you is to spend your time and money elsewhere, especially since this could be a passing thing- at your age, you might wake up one mornin' and say, "Man, what should I do with all these dumb worthless figures and posters of little girls??". There are other ways to decorate a room that would not be emotionally- or wallet-- compromising!

I guess that you're right, but it tends to be annoying that people keep showing me all sorts of nice figurines. Being me, I'd probably stay interested in anime and the such, as I've been watching things like Yu Yu Hakusho from a young age, and on top of that, I still play Zelda, Mario, and that sort of similar stuff.
I have nothing better to spend my money on anyway, aside from gaming.

Gaming is practically part of this generation's culture, guy- it is bound to be a universally accepted interest, whereas foreign cartoons are still something of a niche in the States, when you consider how many people live here! All I'm sayin' is, if you choose to pursue the wonderful world of figurine merchandise, make sure you're invested first- otherwise, you may be pressured into something entirely different by your peers, and that'd be terrible~

You're 13, you'll change as you mature as a teenager.

your teenage and early 20s years are the time where you gradually grow as a person and discover who you really are.
Like Kyzak said, don't make any decisions too soon.

I myself never would have realized how deep I'd get into this music when I was your age, but as I grew older, it became more of who I identified myself as. When I was younger, I was more into that animu and mango stuff. I swallowed the s*** like there was no tomorrow, constantly buying mangos and such, but as I grew older, I became detached from it. Why? Because as I matured, I found it wasn't what I wanted to be identified by. I mean, these days, I own maybe 3 animus tops and only because I really, really like them, but besides that, I don't find any fulfillment with that group.
And by no means am I done with this identity building, I've got some years to go until I fully understand myself.

Well, I don't have any games I'm currently interested in getting, nor clothing, so I guess I'll keep tryin'.

So is that a vote to merchandise or cosplay?

I'm going for Ted Kasane.

EDIT: I read that wrong, I thought you meant only cosplaying as f*** or attractive women.

Ted is like, the only one with glasses.
Well, the only one with glasses that I'm not too lazy to find.

Why give a damn what other people think? Close friends and family maybe, but why care about it otherwise?

The other part I agree with, though. You never know if you'll outgrow it.
