Playing Brawl online taught me to despise Final Destination and everything it stands for. I play Smash for the glorious absurdity, I change characters every fight just because I like the variety and I always have the items rate on high.
I can respect the tournament scene, but I will never view it as a proper way to play Smash

Psst, Smash Purist The 'proper' way to play Smash is to enjoy playing it. The tournament scene plays it different but still they enjoy it sooo You're basically saying; "If people don't enjoy it like I do then I think they are not playing the game in the proper way" which I think is super arrogant of you.

You're thinking about it the wrong way Picture it like this: Final Destination doesn't really do anything interesting, so it's pretty much impossible to hate it because of its design So imagine a stage in Brawl with nice music and visual aesthetics, but a f*** awful layout Surprise! Now you can have the same stage visuals & music, but with a quiet and unassuming layout instead of the actively bad one There you go But I'm sure there are gonna be s*** who only want to play on FD stages at all times because muh balanceSo don't play with those guys

It's not up to you to define what the proper way to play Smash is. Whether it's for the most fun, or a test of who has to most skill, luck, or else-- we can play it safe an call them all proper ways to play Smash, because it's there for our entertainment. Final Destination is a "no distractions" stage, but that doesn't mean it stands exclusively for competition. It just happens that it's super-popular for competitive people that way. There's still a huge debate on whether it's even the most fair stage for competition or not. Chill out. Plus, the FD skins all look great.

the only reason i dislike final destination is because it's always picked online, but after stopping online play i began to enjoy it more it's just how over-used it is

tip for a few people: most tournament players don't really like final destination, it's a pretty unbalanced stage
FD is the preferred stage for more casual players when they want to have a serious game, not for competitive players
but why let that stand in your way when you have a chance to talk about how illegitimate the competitive scene is

I think this is less for the competitive scene and more for casuals that don't want to play with hazards

it's for something like "competitive casuals" i guess for the lack of a better term the people who want to have serious, intense matches but aren't the type of people who would go out of their way to attend to an apex tournament still casual nonetheless, i'd probably play for fun a lot more than for glory but i wouldn't let go of my main in glory

I think a better question would be: will the Wii U version have an answer to Smash Run? Seems like a shame to have all of those enemy models for just one version...
