Who is Monte? Why is he a meme? What did he do? I ask these questions because I haven't been around the forums all that long, and every time someone brings up "Monte" I am left puzzled.

He was a douche that faked his death and came back to the forums onlly to get severely roasted.
Then, he leaked some files on Beta and is now banned forever from this forum.
People put him the blame of delaying Beta and he deserves it.

You see, the joke is the notion that we aren't all Monte alts.

You see, not only has he still not learned his lesson, as I can tell you from personal experience, but he keeps trying to come back. He keeps making alternate accounts, even using them to cheat in tournaments sometimes.

As for him being responsible for delaying Beta, that's completely accurate. The damage he did with his fake suicide stunt and the leak gutted out the devs' morale and turned the remainders' attention to damage control rather than development for a good few months. If it hadn't been for him, we could have possibly had Beta in November.

The air of paranoia he's gassed this community with is the primary reason that this is such a sickening, toxic fanbase now. He's split us firmly down the middle with no hope of repair short of a complete revolution of the game's culture. Over the past year, the issue with him has gotten worse, not better. It's gotten to the point where being here is like being in an episode of The Twilight Zone.*



(*I mean that literally. "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street". It's a classic.)

It's our second month into 2017, and nearly all of us expected this to release in 2016 halfway through the year,

but guess who took a s*** on the community and made development go to a screeching halt for a few months...

Like me and other people have told you before, I'm only here to help address concerns about the new tier list. As soon as discussion of that halts, I'm going to be gone again. I'm still just as upset as I was.

I still don't fully understand why you departed in the first place but I'm sure you have your reasons

You know what... you're right. We do need a revolution. Harr, I'd love to see you come back and help us lead it. I can write a new bill of rights if you can help give compelling speeches. Let's get this thing going.

So, I just browsed a little bit on the forum for the problem and I'm somewhat surprised this happened. It seemed extremely pointless in my eyes. But honestly, with caution, it's probably just best to continue discussing and playing the game... albeit, not too early. (Which I assume you all are already doing)

Maybe I can come back every once in a while to talk here, because it seems like some permanent damage has been made on the community.

Permanent damage? I understand Monte did quite a number on this community but we've recovered, right? So did I miss something else? I honestly don't think this community is damaged anymore. Is it?

It was an observation, but people who host rooms, tournaments and such seem have been affected, as well as developers. I'm not entirely sure if they've gotten over it completely.

I could be wrong, though. You all could have made a perfect recovery and everything could be completely fine now.
