You're worrying too much. Yoshi is the last SSB64 starter to be revealed for Brawl as well, at least that's what I heard (can't remember myself...), and there was no major change to his moveset.

Consider this as well: Captain Falcon and Ness were not revealed until Brawl was released, but that was because they became secret characters again, not because they got major moveset changes. I'm not saying Yoshi will be a secret character this time. I'm saying just because he's getting revealed late doesn't mean he's getting a major moveset change.

I agree with GameBoy. I haven't played smash bros in a while (my brothers have broken my 2nd Wii and our 5th smash game, along with my PS3 just yesterday. And there breaking my family cpu playing ssf2). I've never played as Yoshi so I wouldn't recognize any significant changes, but what I can say is that Capt. Falcon hasn't had avmovset change; no one I can think of has had a major moveset change. So don't be afraid of something that only has a 2% chance of happening.

I wouldn't worry too much about the revealing/appearance of any of the original 12. As boring of a character as he is in Smash, I can't see them doing anything significant to Yoshi.

Can someone bring me up to speed on something? When have game releases had any impact/correlation on the roster/feature reveals of Sm4sh thus far?

Character announcements have for the most part been tied to game releases. For instance, when A Link Between Worlds came out Zelda was announced, and Olimar was announced with the release of Pikmin 3.

Still. I can see hella newcomers, particularly Ridley and Chrom, even given that their two franchises have relatively recent entries (and therefore no parallel release game including them).

That concept seems like an awesome costume character for Link.

Xenoblade's Shulk would make a neat character in Smash, as far as swordsmen are concerned.

I would love to see Shulk make an appearance, even as an assist trophy. If he was a playable character though, he has so much potential for an awesome move set.

He did have a Wii game not too long ago. Some would probably still consider him retro, though.
Then again, Takamaru's been all over the place as cameos for a while.
