If you fully read the the forum rules, Cleod9 states that, The only way I know of for a person to know the topic is over 14 days is hovering over the topic name and checking the date. This can cause problems for, people who aren't good with date checking, people who didn't know how to check the date on topics. There should be a warning over topics stating that the topics are over 14 days old and tell the consequences of bumping.

Or people can just follow the rules, it's not that hard to check the date of the previous post.

I gotta say though, it's easy to forget. I like this idea.

How would a newbie know how to check the age of a topic then?

It's not the age of the topic, its the age of the newest post. All you have to do is open the topic to the latest page and look at the previous posts date before posting, if your having trouble finding it just look under the main avatar area.

To be honest, it's hard to notice. It blends in and I hardly ever check it.

You get into a rhythm eventually since what looks like a "new topic" with several pages is a bit sus or maybe a meme floating around at the beginning pages is also a tell-tale sign that you should check the dates before posting

I'm still up with the warning system. Everyone should know how the internet affects people intelligence.

Dude... it's a forum... these kinds of things aren't neccessary because they're common sense. No it doesn't blend in and no Cleod shouldn't waste his time on a little system so people can be even more lazy then they already are, just check the date of the previous poster.

Just, thought I'd throw this in here as a mod's point of view, or at the least, my point of view.
1)The internet is not an excuse to be an idiot. 2)It clearly tells a user the date of the most recent post OUTSIDE of the topic (last post column) and INSIDE the topic on every single post.
Really, its inexcusable, and I find that it often happens when people don't bother to read the rest of the topic or at least the most recent posts before posting.
