I've seen both, and I'd much rather they keep to their own devices. Animated trophies sound good in theory, but I prefer them stationary.

Yeah exactly. On top of the 100 animations they already have to make for each character.

Yeah it's hard enough to make the games as it is. But since we're likely to not get SSB4 'til the end of next year, they can probably take their time and do that.

Nintendo hasn't announced anything on SSB4's release date yet (I don't think), so no one really knows. But of course, Brawl took a while (from what I hear. I didn't even know about Smash bros. 'till around when Brawl came out lol). Based on that, it probably will come out in early 2014.

Brawl took over three years. It appeared in 3 E3 Presentations with different trailers every time.

Brawl was announced way back in 2005. We didn't get a trailer until E3 of 2006. It was going to be released in December of 2007 but the last-second addition of Sonic changed that.

Smash 4 will be a much larger game (Rumor has it that the next generation of console games will be as large as 20 GB). This combined with the fact that it's being made for two systems makes a three-year development time reasonable if it's even made that quickly.

Don't rush Sakurai-san. If you rush, you end up with a game like the original Super Smash Flash. Seriously, they need to add the trollface to the smiley list in this forum.
