So I've had my iPod touch (2g or 3g, i'm not sure) for about 2 months. The other day, it was working fine. I stopped listening to it and left it for a few hours. When I went to unlock it, it wouldn't do anything. When I plugged it into my computer (Vista if its important), it said it was in "recovery mode". It said I had to restore it, which I did. When it finished restoring, it said to wait for it to show up in iTunes. Then, a few seconds later, I got the recovery mode error again. It's been in this repetitive cycle for a few days now, and It's really frustrating me. Keep in mind it is not jailbroken, and as far as I know, I haven't done anything that could have triggered this. I'm sure that someone here knows how to fix this, so if you could, help out, would yah?

My best advice is to use your warranty to your advantage, since you've had it for under 3 months. Just don't mention it was due to water damage, if this was the case.

Well, I didn't have to use the warranty, I fixed it myself. I tried soft resetting it before, but nother happened, and I thought it hadn't done anything. I plugged it into the computer today and it just restored from a back up. I had to load all my movies and music back onto it, but I got it working anyway. Thanks for the idea though, I would have done that soon

Sounds like the iPod fixed itself, all you did was plug it in.
