Since square is making this game, some people keep believing that the wooden doll will be playable.

I'd prefer Final Fantasy characters over Geno and Mallow though. They were a pretty cool addition to Mario Hoops 3 on 3.

I was just saying that I'd rather have FF characters again then Geno or Mallow. I never stated that we can't have both.

The idea to add Geno and Mallow would calm the tantrum of many Mario RPG fanboys to see them back (sorry if I offended you Geno... ps), after all, they are characters in the Mario continuity.

But they were made by Square, and thus Nintendo can't use whenever they want.

Look at this like this: If Square wanted them to return, then they would've been in Hoops 3 on 3. Square could incorporate them into Sports Mix, but that's only a small possibility.

Really? as I know Super Mario RPG 2 became Paper Mario.

It's never going to work. If they make that game, they will not be able to make Geno like he was in SMRPG and the fanboys will rant Nintendo to death. Nintendo gives it a third try and gives Geno his own game as a last resort, in which he uses guns and has to find out about his dark past and somehow has an connection to aliens from outer space. One by one the fanboys lose interest, but hey; he'll get new 5 year old fanboys by then, who make fantastic recolours of him and call it 'fan characters'.


Sometimes characters were made to appear once and then be done with it, Geno is probably one of those.
