I do have a bit of a suggestion for shading spherical things though. Try to make it a bit more like:
Instead of all the light going straight up to the edge imo. Mainly for Kirby. _________________ |

You're right about me having to fix them but after paying attention to some of the in-game sprites I realized that most characters in ssf2 receive light directly above them. It makes sense cause it's a flash game; turning a sprite around in the opposite direction changes the direction the highlights on a character is facing as well.
So turning an object in ssf2 with a tilted highlight away from its light source distorts the illusion of light, whereas turning an object in ssf2 with an overhead highlight away from its light source keeps it in check. edit: i butchered that sentence
