Not quite sure what happened

I'm not quite sure what happened, but I'll explain this as best as I can. A friend and I were playing SSF2 online a little bit ago today, and we noticed that something was wrong. While we were playing, it was like we were suddenly not fighting each other. What I mean by "Not fighting each other" was, when the fight started, we were battling, but then once we had lost a few lives, we noticed that we were fighting, but it was like we were battling "Shadows" of each other, and that our screens were not "Synced" and that when one of us moved, it did not appear to move on the other's screen, but it was like we were fighting a CPU and not each other. I honestly have no idea if this is something normal that happens or not. I have the replay file saved and attached it. If someone could maybe look at that, and I'll try to explain what happened in the replay, that'd be great. This is my first time posting, and not sure if I did this right, so if not, let me know. :)

You and your friend most likely desynched. It does happen, but a general rule of thumb is to reset SSF2 after every game to minimize the chances of this happening. Some people say that triggering Marths Counter has a high chance of spawning a desynch, but peronally I think thats a rumor.

Thanks so much. I'll be sure to let my friend know what happened. Once again, thanks!
